Hmm....I seem to recall a famous incident associated with the image of a serpent and Not Dying. Something about, of a serpent promising Humanity they wouldn't die if they followed its advice. Was pretty important to some religion or other.

Even a brief encounter online with his followers tells you it's a cult. Didn't even need to be explicitly stated.

Immortality in my head: awesome I can paint and hang out with friends and family. Immortality in reality: We're going to make it so you work retail forever so we can be rich forever.

Interesting that he thinks living forever will save humanity but doesn’t mention having children. This should tell you everything you need to know.

I remember I once saw someone do the math, and theoretically, if you never aged, your life would, on average, end by around 300 or so, by means of some kind of fatal accident, whether it be a car crash or falling and hitting your head wrong. It devolved into a cult much quicker than I thought it would though.

I am a radical life extension guy and have been before Bryan Johnson's rose to prominence. He is an atheistic so he is seeking religion like we all do many seek it through statism so his way is superior to most but the hole will be there until he actually finds God. In the mean time let's just appreciate that he is doing an experiment that many of us can benefit from

This is a human experience for souls. Live it fully, but don't try to hold on too much especially after 70.

Is this the dude who injects himself with his son's plasma? Weird shit.

Just remember that this is what pretty much every religion throughout history has promised

After spending some time thinking of a witty post I am reminded, instead, of one thing: Only one Man defeated death... everyone else who says they can is chasing the rabbit down the (hell) hole.

Yeah, I remember you calling it. Beware of people making you a prophet now, LoL. They can turn you into the High Wizard of the Eternal Dream faster than they turned the Dude Lebowski into a religious figure. The snake at the bottom though, cut in pieces, like it's something he's trying to put back together, Dr Frankster style, very Salvador Dali type of surrealism. Ew brother, ew, what's that brother?

Maybe I’m out of the loop here, is this a new thing or is it an ironic group? Also, happy Lent to all celebrating!

Weird guy for sure. But as it stands nobody can definitely know what death ultimately means and whether it is wiser to embrace it or seek to defeat it. I don't get where religious people get their confidence from that death will be ultimately a good thing.

I'll be honest, I often pray for a long life (I feel I need it for a variety of reasons), but I'll never fall for this false immortality nonsense.

People think I'm being hyperbolic when I say this stuff is religious sentiment.
