Hey, Tines! I just came up with what if alternate timeline of this series. Toby, the part of Montague that retained all of his good qualities, died sometime when he was on East Anglia, but not before retaining information about all of this. Just before the designers take him away, he overhears the designers talking to Oliver, saying "If Either Montague or this engine manifest blue eyes, Tobias may still exist somewhere inside one of you." However, what Oliver wasn't aware of, was that during his time on East Anglia, Toby manifests the blue eyes, and finds out that is is him Tobias lives inside of. However, this manifestation is what allows Tobias to fully take over, and kill off Toby for good. Toby, however, still exists as a ghost, and secretly watches over Oliver, gaining all the information he needs, before visiting Montague one foggy night, explaining everything, explaining how he is not Tobias, but a part of Montague that died after the fact, explaining why he is the way he is now, and warning him about Oliver's plans to find Tobias, that he needs not to just protect his diesels, but Oliver as well, as he was the only real brother he had. Meanwhile, Tobias lives out the same life Toby would've had, albeit with few changes due to him being a bully and a monster, abusing Henrietta. He does come to Sodor, but he starts causing trouble. He does take Gordon's express, but when Gordon tries to make him late, Tobias finds out, and later kills Gordon himself. The island is thrown into chaos after this, but Tobias takes out one of them, and after that, Tobias is under rule, that is, until Oliver finally finds Tobias. James and the others want to take back their home. That's when Montague comes to Sodor, bringing his diesels. There is animosity, but once they find it in themselves to work together against Tobias, they do so. Eventually, Oliver does try to complete his plan, but Tobias threatens to get rid of him, not wanting his little brother to ruin his plans. Montague stands up for him, and with the help of both the diesels and steam engines, they defeat Tobias.

Hi Adam! I been a fan of your content since I was little, particularly the Tobias series Forgive me if this is a misinterpretation, but I have to ask: In TATAM, we are introduced to the Hybird Machine. Which turned Oliver (presumably) into a Hybird and is what made Tobias into a Hybird. So my question is: Why did Montague never think to force his way into the machine like Oliver did? Or was Montague so tramatized by becoming a tank engine did he just run away? because he isn’t present in the flashback oliver has of the designers abandoning him. now ofc, if these questions will be answered in part 3 feel free to not answer them, I am more then happy to wait xD just wanted to throw that out there I love the tobias series, always have, hope your proud of the first two films becauae you really did so well man
