Unfortunately I'm in this position of my life where despite all the knowledge and intellectual depths I'm broke doing odd jobs to survive and fund my studies i failed to utilize the time to learn the skill to earn a good living and comforted myself with mediocrity and now working 9 to 5 but I hope to turn this situation around someday and reach the potential I'm born with maybe sometimes the harsh lessons teach us what we need to know!

If wealth is your goal, you should pursue it. If academics is your goal, you should pursue it. Stop comparing two differing paths of life :)

I totally agree. Jim rohn said " it's okay to be dumb and broke but if a guy is smart and broke that's pity"

#society. Why smart people don't succeed? Easy answer. In order to be smart you actually have to problem solve (any field). If you also enjoy problem solving you don't rely on lying because makes problems solving easier. You know what most people with money do? Lie and deceive. Long story short if you wanna be rich be a POS don't be smart. Obviously there are exceptions but that's society for you. The good news is, AI is leveling the field for smart people. The ones with money usually hire others to solve their problems don't learn much in what actually it takes, so AI is also mostly useless.

Smart has zero correlation to rich. Rich has no correlation to integrity. Discipline, Consistency and Strategy may, depending on environment and circumstances, land you riches, and it’s still no guarantee of joy. Compassion can change everything. Kindness pays the giver, first, before it circles back as karma. Sovereignty may be a loftier goal than any. Requiring nothing and feeling purpose is possibly the most powerful any of us will ever be. (inc. Maslow’s basics;)

my therapist asked me (and others) the same question. "You're so smart, but why can't you find stable employment?" no one still has an answer to her question.

Being smart is being able to apply your knowledge. Knowledge is an edge that smart people apply, and Bill gates said it’s what he knows that u don’t that makes him different from the rest. So no I’m not shutting my brain off, I need it while I work towards my future

I don't think intellect should be measured by wealth. Is a trust fund recipient intelligent? Did they earn their wealth? There are plenty of idiots who won the birth lottery and enjoy a comfortable life. Also, what constitutes as broke? We need electricians and mechanics. On average they make 35k to 60k. Are they stupid? If everyone pursued wealth, who would do these jobs?

The wiser I get, the more corruption I see. Unfortunately I can see Dan how you’re being one

Thinking cannot make us wealth, but wealth really makes us feel smart.

👍🏾. Now, I'd bring something from Mark, the guy that doodles systems: aim to get it at a 70%. Below that you're risking a reputational backlash. My theory: if you know about the subject intrinsically (teaching English if you speak it) then you can go below that and just make sure you communicate you're in a beta state + have an amazing customer service. People will forgive a lot if they feel heard and know you're building something amazing for the
