Disventure Camp 4: Carnival of Chaos – Advice for the Remaining 8 by PintheDog
The fifteenth episode of Disventure Camp 4: Carnival of Chaos was an intense one. With the remaining campers now divided along gender lines, the battle was on to jockey for position in the majority alliance. However, it was a risky move by one camper to survive that only landed his alliance in even hotter water, as one other member took the fall, and he risked with standing with the remaining members of his alliance.
Early on, we heard some strategy from various campers. Hannah, while devastated about Benji’s prior vote-off, got a pep talk from Natalia and got her head back in the game, deciding to stick with the women for now. But Natalia was ready to jump on the women when she was able to do so, trying to groom Logan and Richard for her future attempt at flipping. Meanwhile, Spencer and Jade’s alliance seemed on the cusp of breaking up, and by episode’s end, more or less seemed like it had.
The Immunity Challenge of this episode saw the campers entering the Stawaki Haunted Mansion. In this mansion, they would make their way through three different rooms, hoping to complete the various tasks and challenges in each of them. In the first room, they were to use books to find four specific ones with numbers on them and use them to open a combination lock to open the door to the second room. But they’d have to be fast, because any camper could use that door to lock other campers out, something that Hannah and Natalia found out the hard way, courtesy of Spencer. The second room was split into three challenges — fighting through rats, trying to reach a chandelier, and trying to cross a glass bridge, each to reach one of three keys needed to open the lock to the third and final room. It was possible to lose the challenge here by either falling through trapdoors or making a bad step on the glass bridge. Logan fell victim to the former, while Jade and Richard fell victim to the latter. Finally, a frightening encounter with Nina’s evil sister from Disventure Camp: Staff Stories made up the third room, and the campers remaining there — Anastasia, Isabel, Spencer, and Zaid — would have to get a knife from her and use it to cut a rope blocking the door leading out of the mansion. The first camper to exit would win immunity.
In the end, an endangered camper played a valuable card to save himself from the vote, but he didn’t quite get the optimal result, as he still lost two allies — one to the vote, and one by betraying her. So as the game continues proceeding along gender lines, what should the campers do now? And hey! I haven’t quite forgotten about Trevor’s “wait a couple of losers” line from episode thirteen. It’s now been two episodes and two eliminations, so I’m pretty sure that the next episode will be the long-awaited Comeback challenge! Knowing that, who will be coming back? And what should the campers remaining do while we wait to find out? It’s advice for the remaining eight.
Purple Team
The Gal Pals continued to prevail in this episode, though for how much longer they will be in control really depends on how united they can remain. But the men aren’t giving up yet. Can they try and take back some power?
Isabel: Congratulations on winning immunity! You continue to be the top con-tender to win since nobody is bringing up your name for the boot. You seem to be on good terms with everybody, and your partnership with Jade continues to be strong. Keep the Gal Pals together for at least one more vote, and then, if you detect anyone willing to defect, pull in Logan and Zaid (if neither one goes home next) as numbers to cut loose any woman considering flipping. Anastasia or Natalia, to start.
Hannah: It is kind of surprising that I have you up so high, given the number of times that you’ve been outplayed. But the fact is that no one seems to be considering you as a threat right now, so it is best that you just go under the radar for the time being. Stick with the Gal Pals for at least another vote, but if you find any other women who might want to flip, work with them to flip to whichever men remain to take control of the game.
Anastasia: You are third since you are still somewhat of a threat. I was worried about you falling for Spencer’s spiel about Natalia at first, since you’d wanted to get him out so badly, but in some ways, taking his words to heart helped out a bit. You got rid of Richard and cut off a number for Natalia in case she does indeed want to flip in the future. Keep her close in case you get ready to flip, but get rid of another man first. Preferably Spencer. Then, you can take Logan and Zaid as your loyal soldiers, recruit one of the women, and take control of the game.
Jade: You drop down quite a bit since you were a target this week and came a great deal close to getting voted out. At this point, now that Spencer has officially betrayed you, it’s time to move on from him and dive in headlong with Isabel. Stay with her and keep the Gal Pals 2.0 for as long as you can. But if that becomes impossible, then just pull in Hannah and Zaid and move forward with a majority alliance of the four of you.
Natalia: You’re now at the bottom of the Gal Pals 2.0. I want to put you high-er, since you’ve still never been a target, but writing-wise, I get the feeling that it’s going to be your time to go soon. Anastasia is on to you now more than ever, having made you vote out Richard. She cut off one of your numbers for a flip, so you’ll only have Logan left now, and that’s if you want to flip only with him. At this point, you’ll have to stick with the Gal Pals 2.0 for now and wait for a new opportunity. Or maybe hope that the right campers come back from the Comeback Challenge to give you the opportunity that you’ll need.
Zaid: I think that I have you at the top of the men because the women do not see you as a threat at all. However, you’d better have a good reason for voting for Jade after they protected you in the last episode. Make nice with Anastasia and work with her going forward. You mignt need her if she chooses to turn inward on the Gal Pals 2.0. Sticking with Logan and Spencer’s sinking ship is not a good move for you.
Logan: With Richard gone and Natalia neutered, your options are very few. At this point, fall back on your relationship with Anastasia and hope that she keeps you over Spencer and Zaid. Your best option is trying a new alliance with her, Natalia, and Zaid to move forward. Try that option and take back control of the game. But then again, you’re an emotional player, not a logical player, so I doubt that you can pull that off.
Spencer: You are public enemy number one. Anastasia, Isabel, Hannah, Natalia, and Zaid all worked together to stop you from winning immunity, which really says something about how they all hate you. While I can give you reluctant credit for turning the target off yourself, I can’t give you full credit, because you didn’t turn the tide toward Natalia like you wanted. Anastasia instead was able to play you into voting out your original number-one ally, and by attempting to do so, you’ve undoubtedly lost all trust with her. Add in the awkward kiss with Logan, as well as saving yourself in a way that resulted in his ally, Richard, getting voted out, and you’re pretty much in a weak position. You saved yourself, yes, but you’re worse for the wear. Unless a miracle comes for you — like the right camper or campers returning from the Comeback challenge — then I think that you’re the next one to go. Hope for someone willing to help you stage a comeback of your own if you want any hope of salvaging your position in the game.
Richard: What went wrong? You were on the wrong side of the numbers, with the Gal Pals 2.0 still outnumbering the men. In addition, once Spencer got to Anastasia, she saw the danger in Natalia flipping, which made her decide not to get rid of her, but get rid of one of her potential numbers for her planned flip instead. In other words, Spencer saving himself essentially put you behind the eight ball.
But that's MY advice. You have your own advice for how the final eight should proceed? Let me know in the comments below!
