Building tree forts, hiking in the woods, popcorn & kooaid stands,.. Floating down the river on a tire tube So many memories 🎸🇺

With very little money, we always found something fun to do. We'd build a fort out of scrap wood, invent a secret handshake, and often search for pop bottles to return for candy and comic book money...Damn, why didn't we realize just how great it all was?

Absolutely!! Back before video games, cell phones and all the other stuff kids have today we used our imaginations to entertain ourselves. We also spent as much time outside as we possibly could lol. I remember getting up early, scarfing down breakfast, calling my friends (on a wall mounted phone) and going ing out the door. The last thing you would hear was your mum saying be home by dark or before the street lights are on lol. We would be gone from 8am until at least 9pm and nobody knew where we were or what we were doing lol 😂 No adult supervision needed, in fact we preferred it that way! If we had bikes it was even better because we could go for miles and miles. We might be at the park shooting hoops or at one of the swimming pools. Maybe we would all decide to meet up at the river and spend the day swimming across it to the big apple orchard for “free” apples 🍎. Of course as we got older we always included girls in our adventures 💋 It might be summer but Monday through Friday parents were all at work all day ♥️. That meant you could spend as much as 8 hours alone with your girlfriend at her house 💋♥️🎉. Those were the best times of our lives. Today’s kids need constant entertainment and are never alone with just their imaginations ever. Boredom is the greatest motivator for invention. And who doesn’t love a girlfriend with a great imaginatio

Just riding our bikes, get your Schwinn with the banana seat out of the garage for the day. Ride down to your best friends house and figure out what to do. Somehow it usually ended up jumping ramps to impress the girls. What good times!

Sure do, we played flag football in the street or tackle the guy with ball in someone's yard. Came in for lunch or supper. Great times.
