There should be in-cab cameras for all rides. More than half the problems will be sorted out with that

I have advocated for the requirement of police verification certificate every 6 months for all taxi , auto , inter state buses, and school buses all around India. This is a very serious problem even in kerala.

I'm no one to judge anyone. Delhi Police's emergency helpline has been 112 since 2019, although even if you dial 100, it gets redirected to 112. There, we get an instruction to press 8, after which we get connected to the police staff... and it rarely happens that an emergency call doesn't connect. Anyone who feels that calls to 100/112 don't get through should genuinely try dialing both numbers for 2–4 days at different times, and then share their honest opinion here based on their actual results. Don't worry — until you press 8, the call won't be transferred to the police.

Dash cam should be made mandatory in all cabs autos etc If the driver is not able to give the footage on such occasions then heavy penalty should be applied not 500 or 1000 like in all other offences minimum 10000.

Sad that the driver lost his job for an arrogant upscale girl's bizarre story. How does his family survive? Uber should investigate before blaming their staff. 100 goes unanswered?

Mojo Story
A Delhi woman has alleged that she was assaulted by an Uber driver during a ride on Wednesday, raising serious concerns about passenger safety in the city.
Bharati Chaturvedi shared her experience on X, saying she had booked an Uber from Vasant Vihar to Sarvodaya Enclave for a doctor’s appointment. She claimed the driver initially agreed to follow the GPS route but soon became aggressive. When she asked him to drive straight instead of taking a U-turn, the situation escalated, and she alleges he grabbed and twisted her arm when she tried to open the cab door.
Chaturvedi said calls to emergency services (100) went unanswered, and Uber’s in-app safety line provided minimal help, merely advising her to call the police again. She criticized Uber’s response, describing it as inadequate.
Uber India acknowledged the incident, stating it was “very concerning” and requested trip details via direct message for follow-up. Chaturvedi, however, said she had already provided all information during her earlier call. Following the report, Uber removed the driver from its platform, calling his conduct a violation of its Community Guidelines. The company also reminded riders to use the in-app SOS button to directly reach law enforcement in serious situations.
Chaturvedi later told followers she had minor elbow pain but was “hugely angry” over the ordeal.
