I would say, no. And not because it is a bad game, but because Minecraft is more focused. Many of these "Minecraft rivals" Are trying to be too many things at once, blocky survival, vehicle building, physics simulator, FPS, racing sim. They end up being so many different things that they don't have a core identity. Minecraft has had such staying power due to its core identity and simple (at first) mechanics. Edit to add: So many modern games are trying to be every single game at once. And in doing so they lose what makes them unique. My favorite example of this is the adding of Base building mechanics into Assassin's Creed, If I want to build a base I'm going to play Minecraft or Factorio, not my sneaky assassin game. Meanwhile the core Loop of Minecraft has been the same since I first played at initial release. And now I play with my 5 year old and the game has the same core loop, but enough new content to stay fun without changing the loop of mine, craft, build.

Minecraft takes up enough of one's life. There isn't room for a rival. I'd rather play something different or enjoy one of many other things in life. If I get bored with vanilla but want some Minecraft, just throw on some mods or wait for an update.
