I finally watched Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on Disney+. I wanted to give it a chance, even with knowing the majority's opinion, but it was not for me at all. Is it worse than, or as bad as, Eternals? No. It's just not good. I know Phase 4 has not been good overall, and Phase 5 hasn't started well either (but at least we got GotG3).
In terms of specifics (without spoilers), the characters were cookie-cutter, not many new additions or dimensions to them. (Ant-Man himself) Scott Lane is the same he was in the first two movies, Hope Pym is only kind of the same, their daughter Cassie is sometimes bland and sometimes annoying (not on a large scale, but enough to feel irritating), Hank Pym is alright (occasionally funny), Janet Van Dyke is... there (sorry, there's not much, even though she is a pretty important character), and Kang is a meh villain. The story is, by proxy through the characters, boring and nothing new. The visuals within the Quantum Realm are decent. The soundtrack is fine. The only reactions the film got out of me, outside of blank nothingness, were a handful of laughs. Half of those laughs belonged to a few good jokes (a couple that were spoiled by the trailer, of course), with the other half belonging to parts that were so bad that I had to laugh.
