In my haste to prove people wrong, I have also inadvertently given out incorrect information myself. Yes, this is about 360 cameras, the infamous "blind spot" and the "invisible selfie stick".

Here's the short version: Some say we can't see the stick because it's "removed by software". Others say it's in the "blind spot" of the camera. My interpretation and explanation of this is that the stick was never captured. That's clearly wrong - In this raw image, the stick is clearly visible.

From my renewed understanding, the answer is somewhere in between. The software doesn't explicitly attempt to remove the stick, or "use AI" to paint it out. Instead, it disappears as a consequence of the stitching process.

I have two videos planned to address this. The first of which is a shorter one to address this specific point. As for the second, perhaps I could indulge in a deep dive in this topic...

Anyway, long story short - I was wrong, and I'm sorry for that.
