I believe it was in my first kit (1000D). I actually really enjoy it as an entry outdoor/candid/portrait/sport lens. It may not be fantastic but it gets the job done. Especially good on a crop sensor, the image is sharper than the sigma 150-500 at 300mm for me.

I bought the EF version of this because it was by wide agreement the worst EF lens on the market, and it took beautiful buttery shots. I got some remarkable shots with this lens in the EF iteration, although it's the most jiggly and blurry lens I own. I still own it! I use it once in awhile. The EF version gave a really gorgeous smooth gradation that I loved and that made sense to me, especially in the budget lens category. You want to use a tripod and you want to figure out the strengths of the lands, but once you figure them out, you will enjoy this lens in its EF form. So now I have to buy the RF ♥️

Canon just “updated” one of their worst lenses for the RF mount… the 75-300mm f/4-5.6
They kept the same optics, design, and AF motor as the 1999 EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III
But it’s also now the cheapest full frame RF lens available from Canon at only $219 for a 75-300mm full frame lens with autofocus.
I’ll be comparing this lens with the RF 100-400 to see If it’s even worth $219!
