I think a nice, 70s burnt orange would work so well with the darker stain.

I love the color itself, but it feels out of place in that room! It doesn’t go with the cork, chrome, or wood elements IMO. I love all of your other choices so much!

Harvest gold or avacodo green. Or fern green. Those are authentic 70s colors. I remember. 🙃

I think you should do a vintage teal that matches the teal blue in the sweater art on the wall!

I love the brightness of the yellow but I think the color of the carpet on the stairs would be great!

It looks great with the starburst hardware. Although more 50s than 70s

That yellow was like the last color I was expecting you to hold up, I thought for sure it was gonna be orange but once I saw everything tied together it made perfect sense! The knobs and the primary colors in the sweater print brought it all together. I think bold, risky color choices are key to achieving a true retro vibe, they were NOT afraid of color in the 50s/60s/70s!!! Bring back those days, let’s leave behind landlord-special white, beige, and gray!!!

I was so sure that you were going to hold up a red or orange. I love yellow, but for some reason, that yellow for that space on that door looked like it would fit better in the laundry room as it was before. The rest of the room looks fantastic and I love what you’ve done with the glass wall and main door.

The yellow is nice, but it doesn't really go with the color scheme in the room. Several people have suggested a burnt orange, but avocado green would go well with the picture you put up.

Sorry, honey...but I agree with Austin. Love the drying rack though- beautiful.

My immediate thought was an AQUA since it’s laundry, similar to the upholstery of your dining room chairs, however I do like the yellow much more than I thought I would!

I'm with Austin haha it's too drastic of a difference. If there was yellow tied in somewhere else in the room it might work, but it's just too much on its own. A darker yellow or a burnt orange would fit a little better

Honestly I didn’t expect THAT shade of yellow😆 definitely a more rich burnt orange or mustard yellow are my recommendations. But the room looks amazing

Like I commented on the actual video, I love the yellow, but I'm biased as it's my favourite colour. That being said, I think whomever spends the most time in the room should get slightly more sway in the choice. I also think it was a bit of a stark choice as it's not present anywhere else in the room or the house in general, so maybe bringing it into some art or a runner in the space would help it feel less out of the blue. If he really can't live with it, I'd take the new colour from something present in the sweater art work you hung in the space, the blue, or one of the shades from the stripe detail, or something that's present elsewhere in the house, the green of the stairs carpet or something like that. But like I said, I love it, and I think whomever does the most work in the space should get the final choice, and if that's Becky, after all, it's not a common area of the home, and the door closes it off so he doesn't have to see it if he's not doing laundry. Just my opinion. 🤷♀

I don't dislike it but I was hoping for the same color green as your carpeted stairs around the corner!
