Why did it take nearly 25 years and something like 15 movies (including various spinoffs) for the X-men to get comics-accurate suits? Better late than never, I guess...

Even though I like that they at least added comic accurate outfits, I feel like the x-men’s inclusion in the movie feels like nostalgia bait. No development from prior phases. Just shoehorned in last minute. They could have integrated the X-Men in Phase 4, making an x men movie there. But no, as they wait last minute, reduce them into one note cameos in multiverse of madness and the marvels, and then shove them in doomsday

Well, it's because comics properties weren't being taken seriously. And truthfully, they still aren't, despite how successful these adaptations have been for an entire era of filmmaking. These characters and stories are being treated as full-on vehicles for socio-political messaging, or just whatever the director wants to do with the source material. So, we have a scenario in DP3, wherein Wolverine puts on his freakin mask for the first time, and everyone loses their mind. Or we see a comic-accurate design for Galactus, and we ignore how underpowered he was. From costuming to characterization, respecting the source material should be a basic requirement for an adaptation, not a friggin' bonus.

Got a bad feeling that for a lot of them, they’ll get these comic accurate suits just to then die in Doomsday. Very likely not wearing those suits again in any future appearance they have.

Because in early 2000's it seemed as impossible or silly. When Tim Burton was directing Superman, well in the pre production phase at least, there were talks of not having the red and blue uniform at all, neither flight scenes

@AvengersX-MenFantasticFour

Fox was allergic to comic accuracy, except for Psylocke. As Deadpool said, that only took 20 fucking years

You can put as many comic accurate things in this movie as you want, and you still won't get my money.

I guess Mystique will wear the white dress with the skulls 😊

Slight fact check: X-Men First Class did actually, feature comic-accurate suits, as did Dark Phoenix. They just weren't the iconic 90s ones we know and love. That honor goes to X-Men Apocalypse, and it was something I actually liked about that movie. Shame it was just at the end.

Cuz T they just don’t do comics well in my opinion. Magneto looks like he could use a wheelchair. Halle Berry was nice as storm. But the rest were a joke, X men should easily be one of the best stories or screenplays ever written by comic book movie standards. But they just screw it up. Hulk by Ang Lee I think was, definitely, one of the best comic movie adaptations ever. I’m just not feeling Hollywoods version of these amazing characters. Marvel just lets them run wild on their characters and it’s ridiculous

Because now the "comic accurate suit" is a source of hype, an item to help sell the movie. Remember that all this superhero movies started with Hollywood people thinking comics and nerd stuff were beneath them. Now, in 2025, because literal billions are on the line, they pretend to respect the source material.

Those suits are a bit controversial. The original guys who designed them left Marvel in the early 90s. They had a comic called Youngblood, I loved it. It was like a mix between X-men, the Avengers, and Fantastic 4. I dunno the vibes were crazy.

I’m still hoping for either the brown and tan costume or the Sh’iar Imperial Guard one, Logan beat Fang's ass and took his suit because his own costume had been shredded.

Ay, we got a tease of these suits in X-Men Apocalypse for what it’s worth. And Wolverine in D&W is literally a dream come true. So I can’t complain.

I dunno — Mystique’s outfit is … compelling.

Because they were under Fox's foolish purview until 2019.

Because Hollywood egos are so great that nothing is better than their ideas- as they take your ideas because they're out of ideas.

Magneto will be in a wellchair too?

The suits they had at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse were kind of cool, and then in X-Men: Dark Phoenix they were wearing suits that looked like they were out of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I am telling you right now avengers doomsday is most likely going to bomb because of the absurd amount of money that Disney is pouring into this thing there are so many characters. Every one of them have to be paid and then all those rumors that we’ve been hearing about this film is most likely going to be a mess and not a good one.
