Totaraum

Hey everyone, I’d like to announce that I’m going to be taking a step back from uploading consistently. I feel like this channel has been causing too much stress and eating up too much time for a while now. Instead of just pushing through it because I feel like that’s what I’m supposed to do, I’m going to listen to the signals my brain is sending me and just let it go.

I’ll be taking this time to pursue other interests, spend more time with loved ones, and work on other projects, some still related to YouTube. Because despite feeling exhausted, I still enjoy making videos. Even on days where I’d rather eat a skunk than open Premiere, I find myself getting excited over ambitious ideas I could never see through with my current schedule. I don’t know what I’ll be working on, but wherever I pop up next, whether it's on this channel or somewhere else, I’ll be sure to let you all know.

Also, I’d like to indefinitely pause the Patreon because I’d rather not get paid for all the days I’ll be doing other things lol. The thing is I can only pause it for a month at a time and I think closing it will erase all the stuff I put up there so I’m not sure what to do. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I paused it for now so everyone with access can still view the stuff I uploaded there, but if you can’t or have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me through email, twitter, patreon, etc. and I’ll make it right with you. Thank you so much for all your support these last few years!

Lastly, I need to thank all of you for being such an incredible audience. Seeing people get excited about, laugh at, or sometimes even cry because of something I made is such a gift. Also, I still can’t believe I see names in the comments I recognize from three, four, even five years ago.

I actually have a folder where I save comments from you all that are really kind, funny, or helpful. I like looking at them when I need a pick me up. I just checked, there are 267 in there and it’s been well over a year since I last updated it. I have a lot of catching up to do, but even if I didn’t that’s still a stupid huge number. It means a lot to me, and I figured I should share that with you all.

I appreciate you all for being a part of this big dango family we built together (if you don’t get that, go watch Clannad. I’m not asking). I’ll see you all next time.

@frog8779

That last little bit (I'm not asking) had me cracking up. Dude thank you so much for all this, I've mentioned this before but before you came around I vividly remember checking YouTube right after watching Clannad for videos about it and being shocked to see only 3 or 4 high quality videos, then low and behold here comes this channel with 200 something subscribers producing videos of a quality greater than channels I can think of with 700+ thousand subscribers. Happy to have seen all the content from TF2 to Hyouka, DBZ to Haruhi, it's always a pleasure. Please take the time you need, get some rest, we'll all be waiting when you get back! Ps. My friend who also watches the content was in the room when I read this so I told him that last like (I'm not asking) and he also immediately started laughing. Keep up the comedic genius pig sh*t---sorry, piglet!

Thanks for everything dude, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have fallen in love with kyoani. Take your time, I'll be here to watch anything.

Your Clannad video was the push I needed to convince my friends to get into it, I feel as though I came to this channel too late as you had just stopped posting content but your videos are nice to put on in the background

@AkiyuAM

Thanks for everything dude. I don't watch anitubers by now but that clannad video is the reason why i rewatched the whole series, just take things slowly and take a break if you need to. I'm a college student and a youtuber but i decided to keep my online presence at a lower status. Your K-ON and clannad video was the only reason why you're channel blew up. Anyways, thanks for the memories

@Pimpgamer101

I saw this post awhile back and was looking into your channel again while doing some spring cleaning on my subs. Wanted to let you know that you are somehow one of the most genuine anime youtubers out there that tried something wholly unique in this community. Your videos felt like a conversation with a friend with sharp wit and great bits instead of a brain dead loser screaming hate/love, or a pretentious anime snob gate keeper. Truly will miss your vids. Will be waiting here patiently my good man 😁

Take all the time you need. I'll gladly rewatch all your KyoAni videos over and over again while you take a well deserved break

@k-ondoomer

Your kyoani content was legendary, I got into your channel because of k-on, but decided to give lucky star, hyouka, and clannad a chance because of you. All favorites now. You did a great job. Rest well king

Take as long of a break you need dude! We're all thankful for the time spent on your work and how it's affected us. I love Clannad and Dragon Ball but I would not have loved Clannad and Dragon Ball more if it weren't for how those experiences affected you. I think one of most interesting things somebody can share are their personal stories with the media they love and people find connection with others in what they relate with. Seeing a brief moment of Project M gameplay in a video was like a "holy shit" moment because it's not something I'd expect nowadays. It makes me curious what "lore" is going on there. It's awesome!

@HersheysLovr

ive only ever watched your clannad series since im not too into modern anime anymore, so it only stood as revisiting nostalgia. but i loved your eloquence and style of video essay, with the handpicked clips or edits. you put in a lot of work that is sometimes unnoticed by swaths of the uncultured (moi), but it was your art! it's creative masterpieces no one can ever take away from your soul. so go ahead, lock in with your real life and you'll make art as you see fit. plus life imitates art more than you know. but living said life takes precedence over expression for the meantime! so take care!

@RefreshingMirage

I’ve been a viewer of yours since 2022 and you’re one of the very few anitubers I watch, I like your editing style and humor, and wherever you go from here, I wish you luck

@Toblehrone

No worries, it's a well deserved break, and I think it might even help with videos in the long run if you don't feel the stress of the rat race that I imagine consistent Youtube uploads can be sometimes. As for the Patreon; if I remember correctly there might be an option to only have it charge patrons whenever you actually publish something? And I think it should last indefinitely since it's just a method of how you want people to be charged (either monthly or per-video), although I can't say for sure unfortunately. Either way, I wish you nothing but the best! 😄

@bonk-ki4nc

It's been a while since I've genuinely been happy to see a specific youtuber upload, so for that thank you. Have a great break man and I'm so glad your channel hit my recommendations

@TotterVideos

Your Clannad videos coming out when they did when I was struggling to find videos I connected with on it was one of my all-time personal youtube highlights. Hard not to hear Parting at the Foot of the Hill in my head while I type this, but now that you're moving on for now, I guess it's time to hate this town, drink, smoke and be hella depressed for the next 5 years. All jokes aside, thanks for everything dude, and if the youtube bug gets ya again, I'll be here to watch! Enjoy your time!
