What’s your actual food budget goal—or have you just given up trying to track it? 😅 I’m testing some dinner recipes that cost less than $2 per person… **UPDATE: Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5ii4kipxhE) Do you think that’s realistic, or am I officially delusional

We’re a retired couple from Richmond VA. When we’re not at home we’re traveling in our RV. We have a home Air Fryer plus one in the RV and of course I have your cookbook. Your salmon recipe is our favorite however there are dozens more I make regularly. Chicken, fish, salads, veggies, rice dishes, etc are our normal diets plus I make I pretty mean breakfast protein drink. My wife leaves the shopping and meal preparation to me saying I’m a better cook, lol!!!

Brother, I eat out either lunch or dinner every day and it’s a $12-15 experience. If I could cook solo at home for $6 it’d be an abject miracle

I usually shop for all the great sale items, and buy more at the sale prices to stay stocked. Also take advantage of reward points that can be double points at times and use the rewards for cash off total. Also coupons help.

We are seniors on a fixed budget. Have 2 adult kids at home, one is disabled the other is struggling to get a footing in a job. I shop at the base comissary dor things that are always cheaper thier.. chicken 2.44 a pound boneless and skinless. Hamburger 3.89 per pound for 93% lean. Everything else is wherever it's cheapest that week. I do try and take advantage of sales on food we use a lot of. I also started cutting back portion sizes. To what is on manufacted packaging. It's helping our wieght.

My sister & I look for great sales on meats, mostly. If we can get several meals we are thrilled and if there’s not enough for 2 leftovers, I always make soup, using both my air fryer and my instant pot.

I live in Los Angeles and everything is super expensive most of the time. So I try to make sure that I'm buying good quality food for my family while not going over budget each month. I will admit that it's very challenging! While I don't have a fixed dollar amount, I do try to keep my grocery spending to within about $50-$75 per month for a family of three. However, I often end up spending more like $100-$125 a month instead. Sometimes even more! But watching your videos has inspired me to figure out ways to cut corners while still achieving a good quality meal each day. I love most of the creative dishes you come up with. I'm so thankful for the helpful tips and suggestions you offer as well. Thank you for teaching me how to use my air fryer in the most efficient and useful way, and for all of your creative and imaginative ways to get food on the table. You're the best!

I don't really keep track of $ per person, but we have found that we can feed ourselves twice or 3 times from a regular dinner prep. We have lowered the amount of red meat we eat to about 2 or 3 oz per person. More chicken, fish and at least once a week we go all vegetarian. We do spend more now on fresh veggies, but I think we are healthier for it.

We eat a lot of meat but mostly ground beef and chicken. I buy organic ground beef for about 7$ a pound for two of us or a 12$ chicken I can make two meals out of. With a side of beans, potatoes or rice and a salad, I can usually keep dinner down to $4-$5 per person. We eat eggs from our chickens (I've figured they cost us about $1.50 a dozen), homemade bread and home grown strawberries, blackberries, peaches or apples for breakfast. I should say we're retired so providing our own food is now our occupation of choice.

I know, groceries are way too expensiv in general in the USA right now. But I would strongly suggest to choose as healthy food as you can get! Your body and soul will thank you!!! 😇

@jennyrose2200

my idea of healthy is meat and greens, the occasional sweet potato or carrot. One pot meals. I eat a light lunch and an early dinner.

My wife is recovering from radiotherapy for cancer of the throat. Please make ONE recipe “lump free” (less than 2mm) and none spicy! She has survived on double-cream and either bananas or porridge for about two months now! Ian D

Per person in Canada is easily $10-$15.

If some of us have a big freezer with lots of stuff storage then you would be good for cost per for person.

5 months ago | 0

@benlkoval4814

I would say 4-8$ cause of the cost of fruits and veggies and that's fresh not canned. Also it would be the cost of meat for the meal that I'm making, also depends on the cost per person and where you live.

@lauragarmon6969

If I choose to eat a limited diet, say beans and rice, and supplement with herbs and vegetables from my own garden, that $2 per person could be enough occasionally. Realistically, I want to eat a variety of foods and it can get expensive…especially if I’m using fresh ingredients. We’re closely tracking our food budget over the next few months because retirement is looming large and I want to get the most out of our upcoming smaller budget. I’d be happy for any tips!
