Tatsuya Yoshikawa’s work balances elegance with structural clarity, blending delicate curves and sharp silhouettes into a cohesive visual language. His characters often combine long limbs, spherical forms, and focused expressions, resulting in designs that feel sculpted rather than drawn. Across projects, recurring motifs like divine women and intricate dragons reveal both personal fascination and technical range. The evolution of his style is visible in how softness gave way to more detailed rendering over time.

I’ve said it before in one of my vids, but I still don’t get why Tatsuya Yoshikawa isn’t mentioned in the official Breath of Fire Complete Works. Just because he went freelance? Feels wrong considering how much he shaped the look of the series. Anyway—what’s your favorite Breath of Fire game? Mine’s IV, but I honestly respect all five in their own way. Still hoping for a real BoF6 one day. Artbooks you might like: Breath of Fire official works: amzn.to/3QoOw8c DMC 5: amzn.to/3vNnVIo (his art's on the front cover, contain many artist)

I love his work a lot, particularly on Breath of Fire IV. He has that distinct Capcom aesthetic with his striking and colorful characters.
