I've always loved the dark-side/mirror-villains characters more than the heroes. Venom, Nega-Duck, Dark Sonic and of course Sonic.exe (I liked this "Something went wrong" vibe that this creepypasta game provided).
However, today I'm not talking about our .exe the hedgehog, but about another interesting character that I like no less: Fleetway Super Sonic. (aka "The Berserk Form" in NU).
The concept of NU Fleetway Forms is quite different from its original comicbook version: Chaos energy in my universe has no good and bad versions, being a neutral force that enhances the emotions of mortals that currently dominate in them. - If a mortal feels good or great, and they're able to control their emotions - they will be transformed into the ordinary Super. - However, if mortals are overwhelmed by negativity, they'll not be able to cope with the pressure of chaos energy and will temporarily go mad, achieving the Berserk form.
The Berserk Form is stronger and more resilient than your standard Super, but its consciousness is clouded by rage, which is why it cannot think clearly, often acting like a vengeful beast. This Super version is also a little slower.
I used to just love the concept of Evil Super Sonic without thinking much about it, but over the years of working on NU, I started to look at the Berserk form in a different way: - This can be a great tool for showing the inner reflection of a character, since when this form appears, the host can no longer hold the negativity inside them, letting the world finally see the turtled rage breaking through. I will definitely use this concept more often eventually.
The closest NU character to this concept is Exetior' Sonic. He is very good at controlling Chaos Energy, but because of his difficult relationship with Eggman, Sonic will have to be between 2 fires, which puts quite a lot of pressure on him.
Sonic has experienced both versions of Super forms. At one time, he almost killed Sally while being Berserk Crazy, so he perfectly understands the danger of this power.
It's this very knowledge and Sonic's inner growth that will play a role in this nightmarish story..
