Shut Up Draven

Man! Someone at UMG is out to get me tonight it seems. 4 copyright claim disputes rejected in a 20 mins span.

2 of these videos aren’t even out yet!

One of them (that is out) is even for The Warning, who in the 15 reactions I’ve done, has never declined a dispute.

Curious to see if other reactors are facing the same kind of issue. My guess is yes and you’ll likely be seeing videos about it sooner than later.

I get copyright, but I feel like no matter how much editing, commenting and transforming we do, it’ll always get flagged by UMG.

Sucks man.

But!

Making reaction content is what I do, so I’ll continue to do it.

See you at the next one!

@JohnFnLopez

This is why I will never spend another nickel that goes to a label. I only buy independent music directly from the artist.

If any industry would make extreme use of AI, it would be the music industry doing copyright bounty hunting. Likely more bot'ed up than the scalpers (errr, I mean legit resellers) on Ticketmaster.

@BDUBZ49

So convenient that there's no arbitrator or 3rd party review panel. It just goes right to UMG.

UMG is damn near unbearable to deal with lately. I don’t get it, it helps their product and clients in the long run. Every reactor is dealing with it. Good luck

UMG is a POS Draven. They are currently trying to consolidate all music under their greedy money grab umbrella. They are quietly buying up other music platforms behind the scenes and all of this going after reactors is part of the plan to control all music (with exceptions of independents). Can understand the US not going after them for Antitrust violations (as we know they can grease our politicians greedy hands) Have seen the European Union taking an interest in them though for their anti-trust practices (they went after Google for that reason). Can only hope someone steps up to bury UMG. Artists like REN are forming their own Independent consortium to fight back against the Greedy UMG conglomerate. Best of luck.
