According to Google, ChromeOS is the answer to Windows 10 End of Support: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEKg5... So, do you agree?

@ultraprimez

I would better go with Linux with better options according to my needs.

@hpguru

Google's opinion as always is self serving.

@the_mariocrafter

Regular Linux distros can do everything ChromeOS Flex can, and more (plus more reliably)

Lol, Google's like "The only alternative to Windows 10 where pretty much everything works, is this OS, which doesn't even allow android apps and there's basically no compatibility with any apps you previously used.

@mchenrynick

Why would you trust Google to be honest? Besides, it sounds like an ad to get more people on ChromeOS.

Steam os when comes to desktop PCs will be better option at least for gamers.

@HypnoticSuggestion

No chance. But I don't know what people should do who don't want to upgrade. Valve is putting Linux in a pretty good place and once they have a full desktop install ready, with their blessing and special sauce, and all us games leave Windows, I hope it hits a critical mass and millions more follow. I loved Windows for 30 years, but I'm finally realizing MS isn't interested in making an OS people want to use, only what people will tolerate.

@imikla

It's a rock and a hard place really. There are a lot of people who aren't technically savvy enough to install anything, not even Windows. And why should they be? They probably bought their computer with Windows already installed. They need an appliance like a refrigerator or a TV. For all their advancements, computers are still tools better suited for the tech savvy not the average user. ChromeOS is basically a glorified browser. The extreme opposite of the spectrum from a fully featured computer and OS. It pushes the user to do and store everything online. It makes local storage a hassle. It's more of a terminal than a computer. There needs to be something in between.

Windows 10 LTSC updates till 2032.

@balletinternational1

Windows 10 Iot LTSC could however remain the longest alternative to stay alive a couple of years, I am using it, no applications, good for gaming, fast so far no technical hitches, and does all updates.

Arch Linux or Debian Works better than ChromeOS, oh a bonus, it's not selling your interests!

@driftiguess

i'd just use windows 11 unsupported, but if something goes terribly wrong i'll go to linux

@BrokenKanuck

Linux all the way..

@RichardPhillips1066

Might as well just switch to Linux

@clutchboi4038

Windows 11 is the answer. Debloat, remove telemetry and copilot with winutil. Can even make an install disk that installs windows with a local account not tied to Microsoft in a couple clicke. Then install windhawk for customization and glaze window manager. Can't beat it.

@CraigRodmellMusic

Google WOULD think that, wouldn't they!? And while no doubt it could be A solution, I made up my mind years ago that when Windows 10 became end of life I was going to move to a combination of Windows 10 offline on one machine and Linux on two others. Simple as that.

Most people only use their browser, so yes.

@anthonytester6873

Do explore Linux and give it a try. It is free and very reliable. Very small learning curve and like Windows in use. Lots of 'very good' free to use software like LibreOffice etc.
