The Line of Fire

Let's do one more COVID survey. Have you been vaccinated? Did you get COVID? Obviously, we only have four choices and can't ask whether the COVID was mild or serious, but you can add that in the comments. Thanks!

My covid test came back positive last Tuesday, but I had been coughing, sneezing and I was congested and even had some upper back back soreness the weekend before I got my covid test, which was the second one I got in a one week period. Covid for me was mild. I know people who had it much worse than me, and for that I'm grateful to God!!!

I work for Lowes headquarters and worked for a department that handles covid cases for positive employees to cover them for payment while out sick. Out of the cases I processed, I can say that it did not matter whether vax or unvax people still had all ranges of symptoms. Some asymptomatic, some mild, some severe and few hospitalized. I found that age was the biggest factor, regardless of vaccine.

You could've added two more choices: ~ Vaxxed, don't know if I had covid ~ Not vaxxed, don't know if I had covid. I'm: Not vaxxed, don't know if I had covid. I got sick in January 2020 and in January 2022, but I don't know if it was covid or the flu because I didn't get tested. Pre-covid, when I got sick with a respiratory illness I never got tested to see if I had a cold or the flu, so I see no reason to get tested for covid. Like always, I just took care of myself until I got better.

I’ve had Covid at least Three times and only the second was difficult. Now it’s a blip on the radar. Natural immunity.

@SpiritLife

Had gotten it last year and it was merely a cold for me. Ended up having to take the shot so I could go on my middle east mission trip. The symptoms from the shot were WORSE than Covid itself!!

I'm un-vaxed and got COVID over Christmas. Was pretty mild and recovered in a few days. My wife and parents who were around me the entire time never got it. 😎

My wife, myself, and our baby girl haven't had covid or been vaccinated and we know of at least 6-7 times in the last 2 years where we were exposed for sometimes hours up close.

My husband and I got it when it was the beginning, everyone but grocery stores were on lockdown. We used our masks, we also used handsanitizer before and after grocery shopping and we wiped the cart. We only went out for groceries and we still got it. Covid felt like any other flu for me (22) and my husband (24) except we both lost our sense of taste and smell for about a week or two. My smell and taste fully recovered but my husband's didn't. Beer had a garlic undertone to it but it went away after a couple of months. Similar things happened with cilantro. Now anything with butter tastes weird to awful (depending how much butter is used).

I got it twice, once in August, that one felt like a hangover for about a week and lost taste and smell. I got it again during Christmas, the only symptom I had was an itchy throat and when I went to bed I would cough. That lasted maybe 4-5 days.

I fall into the category of not sure I got covid before but i recently got vaxxed so I can travel internationally. Wouldn't have done it if it wasn't absolutely required

Unvaxxed. Got it. Felt like a cold. Was over it in a few days. No after-effects.

My husband has had it at least twice. The first time I didn’t get it and neither did our 3 boys that live with us. The second time I did get it but it was mild and didn’t affect me much. Our boys (21, 19, 15) didn’t get it either time.

After several exposure since 3/2020, finally got Covid April 2021 (Beta wave). Overall felt fine, but fatigue lasted about 3 weeks. Got Omicron end of December. Onset 2 days after exposure. Felt perfectly fine except a cough at night which lasted about 4 nights, then tapered off. Natural immunities are best.

Had Covid in the summer of 2020 and got my first vax yesterday out of solidarity for my daughter that is joining the Navy and had to get the vaccine. Blessings to all!

Everyone around me seems to have gotten it. Many if not most are vaxed.

I'm 60 and have had a positive test for 25 days. I've felt fine for about one week.

The first time I got COVID was in January 2020. I was really sick and was on-leave from work for three weeks. Since I became vaccinated, I have gotten COVID two more times... Both of those episodes were relatively mild. I work in the public school system.

I didn’t get sick when taking care of sick people last year. I got sick in December. People took care of me were naturally immune and did not get sick. I got covid pneumonia. I used ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine a week later. I had 2 weeks of symptoms because of the sequelae post infection.
