I have emerged at the end of moving house. Or is it just the beginning? So many boxes to unpack still. My office is the general accumulator register for this process of moving, categorizing, and unpacking, so it's swamped and in disarray.
During the move, between traumatic deliveries and bouts of construction, I started refactoring my video encoder to make it a general media encoder. A lot of generic/template abuse going on. I'm just about to complete the distillation of the encoding essence and implement a concrete system for audio.
I've been doing that on my 2023 cheap, gutless AMD laptop. It's somewhere in the house. I can ping it. I have no idea where though.
As for my walking-about coding but expendable 2014 MacBook Air... during the move, I upgraded its storage from 128GB to 1TB for peanuts because I need to generate serious training data for my latest model. Positive side-effect: it's much more responsive and speedy now.
I will be assembling my "studio" over the next few weeks. Time to brush off that script that I started working on such a long time ago that I have rewritten it twice. Third time's the charm.
