When dining out, what do you prefer?

@dangelus4115

When I was younger, I often tend to order familiar dishes but now that I am older and studying culinary/F&B, I found that trying various dishes whenever I have the chance pretty satisfying since you'll never know when you would get to try it once again. It also helps me broaden my horizon on various kinds of cuisines and dishes.

When I dine out, I never buy anything I can make, and I always use appetizers as an excuse to buy something new.

I always tend to get the same things. I have stomach issues, so I like to do something I'm more used to, and I also get anxious about wasting money on something I might not like.

Im a pretty good home cook, so when I go to restaurants I look for new experiences and dishes I would never make at home or cuisines I have never tried.

@jxton_

really just depends on my mood if im up for trying something new or if i want comfort food

I like familiar dishes bc I like seeing the different spin each restaurant takes. For example if you order chicken tenders, not every restaurant does it the same so you’ll have a unique experience every place you go even if it’s something “basic” and “safe” as chicken tenders

If I'm somewhere new, I try new things. If I'm in my home town, I kinda already know what's best without having to try everything. But if somewhere new opens up, I'm definitely trying it at some point.

I’m always like, “I’m going to order something different” and then always end up ordering the exact same thing I’ve always gotten

I always get something familiar. Eating out is expensive and i'd rather not throw money away on a new dish that I don't end up liking.

I'm autistic so I will eat the same food for my entire life and be perfectly content so

I go to the same Korean place and tell myself “I’m going to try something new” but then proceed to buy kimchi jjigae again, and again, and again. When you can only afford to eat out once every few months, it’s hard to try something new. Lol

I like to have my comfort meal when dining out. I enjoy trying new things because sometimes it can turn into a new favorite too!

I'm generally going to try and order something that I can't make (at least with relative ease) at home...that said if I find a really good dish then I'm sticking to that.

Well if I’m spending money on food then I would want something that I’ll like. I’ll try new things if I have some extra money or if the entire group just bought a lot of dishes that we all share

I love to try new things but as of late the quality just hasn’t been there and most of the time I end up wishing I had just gotten something I knew I was going to like or at least be able to finish instead of trying something new that was made lazily, and not getting to enjoy it at its best.

I’m someone with a lot of food allergies so I stick to what I know I can eat, usually burgers and stuff like that
