The 6R transmission is best used for straight line racing in Mustangs and such in the form of a 6R80. For a truck on the street the extra ratios in the 10R140 are very beneficial.

Well I just bought a 2025 f350 stx, it has the 7.3l Godzilla and the 10 speed trans and I love the thing so much

6 speed 6r80 is a much more reliable transmission. This is one of the many reasons that I did NOT want a 2018+ F150.

What makes biggest difference from experience truck driver is differential ⚙️ I ran two different differential ⚙️⚙️ gears in mines in single axle ussually 355 with 6 speed but if same gear 10 speed can run a stronger differential since the got more gears but have more problems gotta change them aluminum crap basket put blk cast iron steel ones but transmission only does 4th part differential is where is at I would dog all them 18 speed with my ten but I had 3 speed auxiliary in transmission not two

6 speed has much better “drivability”. The only place the 10 speed shines is cruising on the Interstate. Absolutely hate the 10 in city traffic. Most times I lock out 8,9,10 and just run the bottom 7 gears. Even then the dang thing seems to always be hunting gears.

I don’t need 10 gears in an f250. Ford and Gm and unmentionable need more than 6 for the man behind the curtain. Stupid.
