Personally, I think there are a LOT of mysteries in this game, many which I don't even think we can answer. Maybe. Here are a ton of my own thoughts, speculation, and proposed mysteries though. Sorry for the wall of text lol. Anyways... What's with GMS's slumbered state? It's mentioned enough that I feel like her endgoal is somehow waking up, her bestiary even saying she's "desperate" to wake up, implying to me that when you finally meet her, this is still something she's working towards. I think it makes sense to think she's still asleep when you fight her too, as her arms are crossed like one would sleep in a coffin, and face obscured, like she's not conscious. Not to mention, what's with her cocoon? I've seen people think her cocoon is somehow how she's been imprisoned or put to sleep, but... she seems to get out of it just fine when Hornet challenges her, and even creates a second one in the Abyss. (Within that is where Lost Lace is fought.) It makes sense too- she controls silk, right? So it checks out if she can control that cocoon. Not to mention, what's with the Citadel? It was apparently founded by the Weavers, but... If the goal of doing this was to seal away GMS so she can't control those beneath her... why was the Citadel's religion themed around essentially sacrificing the lives of everyone to slaving away in the name of GMS as a holy diety? Heck, there are even signs in the Citadel (like the one in the Cradle) that say dying ITSELF is a sin. Despite GMS being locked away or something, it feels like the Citadel is designed with citizens slaving away and giving up their lives anyways? The haunting even feels like it's a just MORE of this hellish reign being fulfilled, especially since dying was ALREADY a sin to the Citadel. With her silk, they don't have to die. It's like Haunting was *expected* to happen, but again- isn't this supposed to be her prison? Why would it work that way? Plus, if the Weavers founded the Citadel, why is there no presence of them? No shrines or anything, no Weaver architecture. Heck, even in terms of machinery- Weaver tech is iron, but the Citadel's is gold. And music-wise, the Weavers used string instruments, like harps, but the Citadel uses choir primarily, and bells. What's the role of music in this world too? I've seen people speculate that the Citadel exists to lull GMS to sleep with music, but, especially with the top of the center tower, but... What's the point of the choir then? Plus, that place only plays one of the three melodies needed to reach the Cradle, so does it not serve the purpose of lulling her to sleep? Was it at some point playing at all times? Or is GMS's slumber more akin to a curse that was inflicted on her LONG ago that doesn't need to be sustained? Also, even if it WAS the former, what's the point of so many bugs being part of the "choir" and stuff then? Do they need to sing anything, or is it just a name? ALSO, what did GMS need Hornet for? It's mentioned like, twice that she wanted not just her silk, but her "shell" too, so did she need Hornet's body for something? Does this help her awaken somehow? Does she need to absorb Weavers to regain her full strength maybe...? Does she need to use Hornet as a host to escape her own forever slumbered body? And all for what? Why does she even hold so much malice and want to cause the haunting? Is she just mad about being locked up or put asleep and looking for revenge? Or does her desires line up with the fact the Citadel clearly aimed to control every aspect of Pharloom's lives, even aiming to remove death from the picture in the name of total control? Hm. Also, what's with the THOUSANDS of bells at the center of Pharloom anyways? Why is it a big junk pit of them? Plus, I feel like the bellways are a remnant of an older civilization... (Though there's not a lot of evidence for this.) The bell veins just... aren't used by the Citadel is all, despite having access to one. They're all closed off. Don't the bugs affected by the haunting benefit from this the same as anyone else? So why lock it off? Why is the Citadel itself also locked off too, if Pilgrims reaching the top is good for the haunting? Was it always a rite of passage to ring the bells and be judged, even before the Haunting? If so, once again- why are there bellways and bell veins throughout the kingdom? Also, why were the Weavers studying void in the Abyss? And does the map in the lower right Weavenest imply they might have went to places outside of Hollownest and Pharloom? And didn't they say in Hollow Knight that the Weavers left to "return" to their home or something? Where are they? Why is Phantom also in the Exhaust Organ? It looks like she has some sooort of test tube in there? Does she need that to live, or was she created there maybe? How DO you mess up creating a being like Lace and Phantom with Silk anyways, is there a process? Or is it as simple as snapping her fingers and forming a child? Is there something we're missing about the Wisp Thicket too? Why is there just a massive effigy of some "father" in the center of the kingdom? Is it relevant at all that it's SPECIFICALLY in Belhart too, or is that just coincidence? It might be a stretch, but the cult donned in red worshiping flames that seem to exist beyond our perception kinda reminds me of the Grimm Trouppe too, could they be connected? Maybe not, but idk. There's probably even more, and I don't imagine these will all be answered in this video, or that if they are that they'll have definitive answers. But I think these are interesting topics.

Looking forward to this!!! My biggest question about the lore is if the Weavers want G-ma Silk to stay sealed and asleep, why is going to the Cradle part of the pilgrim's journey everyone is taking? Yeah it's hard as hell for the average bug to get the three parts of the melody, but even still, why make it even possible to go to the Cradle to wake her up? Was that all set up by G-ma using her influence over silked bugs to create a way to have someone unseal her? Could she not just use her direct influence to have a bug come there directly to wake her up?
