I need another option somewhere between the first two. I thought it was a solid start, about what I hoped for but not anything that blew me away. Like a lot of people, I'm not a fan of Sabine getting stabbed and then being more-or-less okay afterwards. In that case, what was the point of making it seem like she was mortally wounded in Episode 1? They could've just had her get a bad hit in the leg or side of her body. Obviously she wasn't going to die, so why make it seem like she could've been killed? Other than that, my only real complaints are that the show seems a bit slow in general and that Natasha Liu Bordizzo hasn't quite clicked with me yet as Sabine. By the first point, I don't mean that the pacing of the story is too slow but rather that some scenes just seem... longer than they need to be. The scene of Ahsoka getting the map at the start of Episode 1 was a good example of this; it was a good scene but felt like it had too much time with nothing really happening. As for my latter point, I get that Sabine is now something around 10 years older than she was in Rebels, and characters change overtime. Furthermore, she was a teenager in Rebels, so the change in personality can be even more extreme. However, it's still a bit sad to see Sabine so... reserved. Part of the reason she is one of my favorite Star Wars characters is because of how bombastic and emotionally charged she is, but here she is toned down so much that it just doesn't "feel" like Sabine (although her opening scene on the speeder bike with the E-Wings is great). I'm hoping we get more of the Rebels-esque Sabine as the show progresses.

I said I loved it want more. Reality is I had a ton of issues. Lui Bordizzo was not one. I think she did an amazing job. Perfect intro to the character for the casual fans. MEW was not enough like hera in aesthetic and in mannerisms. She is a battle hardened general who is way to loose, basically negotiating a spat between two grown ass women. Rosario doesnt hit for me as ashoka. Huyang kicks ass. Elsbeth, Baylon/Shinn seriously hit. Such great villains. Intriguing plot too. Plot is the reason I want more. Sometimes the set felt constrained. The Volume sucks. More dialogue than mando, some pauses to let things sink in. Writing still not great but honestly better than everything but Andor. Overall as a package I would give it a 6.5/10 but the plot has me excited for the next episode to drop. I'll go find your review and see what yall thought. Much love ✌️
