I once saw an asmr video of a guy brushing water on raw wood, it sounded heavenly. The brushing sounds mixed with sounds of the wood absorbing the water and expanding were sooo nice.

scratching the ribbed bottom of a glass jar.. especially if you have water in the jar and move it back and forth, the change in pitch/tone of the sound is soooo good

Here are my highly specific triggers: Peeling stickers out of a sticker book. Construction paper cutting. And those 90’s ball-hair ties clinking together. Lacing up a tennis shoe with shoelace. Squeezing out a sponge. Opening and closing jars. Soft-clicking computer mouse or remote. Those mist spray bottles

Sharp scissors cutting fabric. I listened to a sewing ASMR video and it was awesome.

CRUNCHY SOUNDS, not like eating crunchy foods, just crunchy things you can touch. Like snow/compact ice, hard sponges uhhhhhh, can't think of anything else

those vietnam ear cleaning where you scrape only on the silicon ears. just that monotonous scraping is so relaxing to me more than scraping inside, which makes a harsher sound, mostly from the foam(?) inside the microphone ear and especially lid sounds. they’re SO underrated i feel like. not many people can make lid sounds sound so good. i forgot atp if bakery did one already but i know they’ll do it justice

When clear slime is draped over a mic and gently rubbed is heavenly. It gives me the impression of being deep underwater and listening to bubbles rise to the surface. It’s super relaxing

I once saw a video where an artist delicately rummaged through a jar of paintbrushes (to select which one to start his painting with) for a solid 10 mins. It was the most relaxing thing ever.

The sound of a pinecone is wildly unexpected, but amazing! Also the needles of a cactus.

Funnily enough it’s not even a trigger that really gets me, it’s when there is actual ambience in the background instead of the usual pure silence. Gentle melody, rain, crickets, nostalgic train horn, fire crackling, muffled talking, cars driving, air conditioner whirring, footsteps, breathing.

The sound of liquids leaving bottles, as the air rushes in, making a blooping sound. Certain types of Gym Chalk can be very glassy and crispy when broken and crushed by hand, rather than by tools. The hollow sound of wood hitting eachother. The sound of hair getting cut. Breaking eggshells.

The shells of raw eggs and the cardboard cartons, tapping and scratching both! I was pleasantly surprised with that one from @ASMRlot recently

omg this is so random but paint that is nearly dry and slightly sticky, tapping it with fingertips sounds so good

I love the sound of thick paper bags being opened. Like ones from perfume stores for example. You never know how the paper is going to crinkle when you open it and the sound is always unique to me :)

Honestly a half emptied filament spool made out of cardboard used in 3D printing, you can kind of compress the cardboard and get some of the cardboard crinkling and the filament moving around and it sounds so good But it has to be either half way or 75% full or else it just doesn't really work

I think leaves don't get enough love. Not just dry ones but fresh green leaves, especially the thick waxy type, they're great for tapping and crunching and dropping water onto.

ASMR Bakery
Are there any unexpected triggers (things that sound different than how you would imagine it to be or things that sound surprisingly good) you wish to see in an ASMR video?
