I have been in and out watching your channel, depending on my schedule. I also follow Edison Motors and Deboss Garage. Since you are into upcoming technology, have you thought of going hybrid electric with the new boat? Edison is doing a diesel motor half the size of a standard commercial truck. In association with Edison, Deboss is doing retro fit light commercial almost medium duty trucks. The size of the batteries and the generator, the batteries run the truck for about two hours. The generator kicks in and powers the truck and charges the batteries in about an hour and runs at peak efficiency. With the long haul out to the fishing grounds, the batteries are fully charged. Hauling traps on the batteries. Charge the batteries between strings. Make sure the batteries are charged when you get to the mooring. The batteries keep the boat set overnight or for a couple of days. You could even have the generator kick on when needed. The guys at Edison say that a hybrid system would not be as adventitious for over the road applications, but really shine in stop/start and delivery or tow truck applications. Since you said buy once, cry once situation, I would think even a 1/3 savings on your fuel bill would be very significant. Just a thought.

Jacob we were just in Acadia from central NY. I have been watching your videos for a while now. Brought you up at the oceanarium on Mount desert Island and the workers there lot up about meeting you recently. Keep doing what you are doing to care for the future of lobster fishing and for the waters in your region. And keep being you, you bring a lot of joy.
