What a groundbreaking update YouTube

❌ AI will now be used to monitor your account history to determine if you are under 18 or not, , lets see how this could go south let's say YOU as a possible 30 year old man could be feeling nostalgic and watch minecraft letsplays from 2014 then watch maybe true crime or predator catches later. The new youtube AI system is seeming like if you watch content that have a large kid fanbase you could be deemed as a kid yourself which results in you being blocked from accessing other types of content that contain possible adult or inappropriate themes.

❌ If you are an adult and get flagged by the AI for being a minor you MUST provide a selfie , id, or a credit card in order to continue accessing your regular content you watch. Godspeed to everyone I hope youtube changes their minds but it's looking pretty grim

@TheRandomEpicVideos

Now the kids will look up adult videos to avoid being flagged as kids. Great job.

@ScrapnerLeonidas

So do these companies just think AI is this 100% accurate software, cause there's no way I'm providing my private info just cause their "fool proof" AI can't get somethin right.

Have we not learned that AI is useless in 95% of cases?

@nephone

Does that mean i have to watch porn on youtube every now and then so that AI doesn't assume i'm a child?

@greasymonk3y

This will result in a couple things 1. Creators that use comics or games cited as kid friendly will be A. Losing viewers because they do not wish to be marked as kids. B. Or will be forced to say or show something in each video to make censors believe that its not for kids, which could hurt the creator by getting them demonetized or simply lose viewers anyway because they disagree with how the creator is going about it. 2. Kids will find workarounds that might expose them to adult content too early because they don't want to be given restricted access to YouTube. 3. This won't stop NSFW bots in comment sections from exposing kids to NSFW content because those bots flock to popular creators or creators targeted by groups like the UTTP. Why are they trusting AI to handle things like this when its been responsible for so many problems on YouTube?

Sign the petition against it. Don’t just sit here and let it happen.

@AbigailWilkey-en3ew

This shits actually gonna fuck with so much YouTubers and viewers imagine getting kicked from your YouTube account just because AI doesn't think you're adult enough and having to give personal information to get it back

@animalpack4622

All of this could be avoided if parents actually payed attention to their spawn and didn't rely on technology to raise them instead of neglecting them to chase glory days that will never come

@ThatLilBeanieGirl

You could essentially take this as Youtube saying “we don’t care about our creators anymore.” This age of youtubers are COOKED.

I watch creators react to fake Minecraft speed runs… I’m 24.

@juiipertt

I'm 17 and I watch a LOT of Minecraft videos to fall asleep to. It's horrible because I don't have a credit card, an ID, nor do I look like an adult. This whole thing is pointless because they literally have YT kids RIGHT on the sidelines. They could've fixed that app up, but no, they bring it here.
