Planet Wild

With wings thinner than paper, Monarch butterflies travel across an entire continent to reach a single forest in central Mexico.
It’s one of nature’s greatest mysteries. Sadly, it is at risk.

In Mission 26, we’re teaming up with Ecosia to restore the forests that the Monarch butterflies depend on!

Hi, I'm from that region in Mexico. Organized crime have been killing activists working to preserve the forest for about 15 years now. We need help. Thank you for bringing visibility to this important topic.

I still remember visiting a conservation farm in the Northeast US as a kid and one of their awesome projects was creating a safe sanctuary for Monarchs. I still remember what an amazing experience it was learning about their migration patterns and how important those little guys are! Thank you for all your hard work in helping protect the beautiful animals in our world.

Yeah, what I thought before actually visiting. No, it takes Several generations to reach the winter grounds. Several smallish forest areas at perfect elevation in 2 states. That Methuseah generation breeds and dies in Spring in Mexico but greatgrandchidren make it back up north. Rise repeat.

Of these were fish in the ocean, bigger predators would eat them. I haven't seen that
