I love this! ❤️ The juxtaposition of the text and image is just wonderful. It makes you stop in your tracks and think: What? It’s making your world of what’s supposed to go together turn upside down. 👏

Joanne you haven’t explained what the experiment is exactly in this post, and what you are asking people to comment on, but fortunately I saw today’s turning the camera on short that explained it, so here’s my thoughts: I personally think this image isn’t well matched to the titles on any of these cards. This is because to me the image suggests the girl is stopping herself from doing something by halting at the sign, or is looking at the sign and recognising she has put it in front of her way as a road block. It could also possibly suggest the girl is stopping to think before making a move as well, or the girl is trying to stop herself from repeating bad habits. So to me the image wouldn’t suggest the person sending any of these cards would want someone to Get Well Soon, that they want someone to have a Happy Birthday, that they are sending Sympathy or Good Luck; or that they are Sorry You Are Leaving. The only cards I might put that image on are possibly a ‘Supporting you whilst you plan your next move’ card, or a ‘Glad you are stopping to think’ card to send to someone considering a career change/university degree/house move etc.

I was just talking about how meaning can change - both in music and with my cartoons - depending on so many factors and, thought I would share this experiment with you.
I'm always fascinated when someone sees or hears something different in the reactions I listen to, and I enjoy playing with misunderstandings (or different interpretations) after years of doing everything I could - including being silent - to avoid them..
