Eventhough I dont live in the USA I feel the same hurt and anxiety around the outcome. Here in the Netherlands it works a bit differently, but to keep it short, the most extreme right party got the most votes... And it feels like the whole system is going to fall apart here aswell. I also see neighbouring countries where the same thing is happening because these parties play on the fear of people which is so sad and makes me angry sometimes

Ive listened to Kamala Harris speech, then Rachel Maddow (love her!!) and now fell inspired to do more good! Recommend😅 post more vegan cooking, talk more about ecology, help more animals in need - to neutralize at least tiny part of damage that will be done in these 4 years..

Very sad Aussie here. I'm a 69 year old climate activist. I truly believed VP Harris could prevail with her positive message. Not to be. We will continue to do what we can locally and nationally. Meantime supporting our most vulnerable communities. There are Mid Terms in 2 years America . Get on message, get organised and get back. But rest up for a while first. Gold 🌟

I won't mention everything I fear. I do that to those who tell me the incredibly stupid sentiment, "You won't have anything to fear, when you have more money in your pocket." I'm 56, disabled, and gay married. I will mention just one fear, for the thousands of women who will miscarry, and die from sepsis, because the procedure to remove a dead fetus is considered "abortive" in the medical lingo. I keep crying. Then, I realise, I am not alone. There are GOOD people here, like you, Merle, creating and sustaining a loving space. The glee on the other side is horrifying. I've seen it. Booger eater Fuentes saying, "Your body, my choice." as if he has ever been with a woman. Our species is so not ready for alien contact. No wonder they won't talk to us, is there? They see what half of us do to everyone else, so what would those people want to do to aliens? <sigh> Thanks for being you, young "niece." We need a shit ton more like you.

Thank you for posting this message Merle. I am always so pleasantly surprised to see that the Youtubers I connect the most with share my values and love for humanity. I am so sorry this is where we’re at but at least we have each other. Lets protect each other and let the rest learn by themselves, sometimes thats all it takes. Love ya! 💙

Thank you for being strong through this, and projecting confidence and strength. I think, going forward there will be a new responsibility on everybody with a platform to find a balance between educating about hard things, inspiring strength and hope, and just giving us a safe space where we can live normally, watch fun videos and relax. Because we need all of those equally. Sooo I'm so glad you're being considerate about all of this, positive that you'll do great, and wish us all a lot of strength. Somehow we'll weather this storm!

I totally feel you and I'm sending love and hugs to everyone who needs it right now. Yesterday was my Birthday and I woke up to the news of Trump beeing President once again. And in the evening we got the news, that our own Government is going down the drain. That's what frightens me the most- a weakend Europe, a crazy and unpredictable President in the US and an ongoing war in our midst with a very dangerous russian President

Hello wonderful people out there,
Due to the current state of our political system, I am not posting a video today, it felt insensitive to the gravity of what is going on. I wasn't sure if maybe it would have been a welcome distraction or if it just felt plain old tone-deaf. So I'm opting to share tomorrow instead (not sure how much of dif that makes but its just what my gut is saying).
I want to extend so much love to all of us who are feeling incredibly fearful, anxious, hopeless in the face of what a second Trump presidency could mean to our lives, our friends and family, and our planet. I see you and I feel it too.
I will always be a safe space for you in any way I can, both online and in the real world. I would encourage you to do the same, continue to call out injustice and speak for those who are not normally heard. I am going to really think of how I can use my platform to create change and educate more people to the issues that we face moving forward to the best of my ability.
It is you all that give me hope in humanity and the future. Please let yourself feel all of the feelings you have today, let yourself grieve and don't put the pressure on yourself to have a solution for how to save the world in 24 hours. We will get through this together, we must maintain hope.
