I had a work permit at 14. I was a dishwasher at a local restaurant. Before that, I split wood, cleaned gutters, cleaned construction sites, and office cleaning . My grades improved while I had jobs.

Child labour and yet have the audacity to raise prices every year

Kids get everything for free. It's good to have them work. :) Builds character and makes us money.

While I donβt think children should be forced to work, I think they should be allowed to do so without work permits. Also, I feel truancy laws should be abolished.

While I think schools should do more to prepare kids for real life, we are stronger as a nation for having compulsory childhood education. The future is in technical jobs, and kids will need the best education we can give them to keep up. We are in the middle of an AI and robotics revolution. All repetitious jobs will be taken over by machines. Machines will be making your McDonald's food, so fast food jobs are just going to go away. People are already ordering food by kiosk rather than a cashier. Corporations aren't going to pay people to do these jobs, soon. This already happened 40 years ago in the automotive industry. Either we give kids a good education or they'll be jobless and homeless.

Children should work. It builds ethic, character & social skills. Things many Americans in their 30's currently lack. And god knows they won't learn in school.
