Atomic Shrimp

December will see an 'Atomic Shrimp Advent Calendar' series of uploads - one video each day, up to Christmas Day - featuring an assortment of simple, sometimes-festive, but always-cosy, different activities, recipes, places, objects and ideas. There are still a few slots that where I haven't quite decided on a theme yet, so any requests and suggestions for cosy-feel/festive content are warmly welcomed (although of course I can't promise to do them all)

@AtomicShrimp

It occurs to me not everyone might know what an Advent Calendar is; traditionally, it's a thing with a series of numbered doors - one door is opened each day, from the start of December,. to reveal a picture relating to and building up the Christmas story, more secular versions became popular, containing generally festive scenes or pictures; modern advent calendars often have small chocolates or other treats or gifts behind each of the doors.

One of your "atomic shrimp pseudo-therapy" rambles but specifically about what christmas means to you would be wonderful! Even 5 minutes would be enriching I'm sure.

I would absolutely love to see you forage and build a Christmas wreath!

Fantastic idea! I'd be interested in potential christmas dinners, "seasonal" budget food challenges (festive meals for 4£?), how your plants are holding up in winter, maybe some warm winter beverages (we have spiced wine in Germany)?

Christmas treats for the birds, e.g. making berry suet cakes, putting out gifts of dried mealworms. :)

Mike you might not understand how incredible of a commitment this is. But it really is. I can only thank you via this comment but I want I you to know that I appreciate this immensely. My December will now be much better thanks to these videos.

Sir, with all due respect, any content you put out will be entertaining. I have never come across a channel with so much to offer. You are, in my opinion, the best YouTuber on the platform.

I'd love to see you use your 'creativity dice' to have to create or build a Christmas present for someone using a set of themes, shapes, colours, materials etc. just by seeing what the dice decide for you :)

There's generally not much Christmas at my house because I'm alone and my cat Frank discourages decorating (he's too fond of breaking things on purpose when he gets grumpy), but now I've got something fun to look forward to this season. Thank you, Mr. Shrimp! 🎄

one thing i personally associate with christmas is potpourri pots, so perhaps an episode centered around those? both the dried version and the kind you leave on the stove to simmer, my personal favorite is orange peel, vanilla, cinnamon sticks, and cloves, plus enough water that it wont burn when left to simmer. makes the whole house just ooze christmas spirit! i know theres a lot of variation in the ingredients used so seeing a couple different versions and your opinions of them i feel like would be a really relaxing watch!

An Eva special? Budget food challenges. Making preserves/pickles/foodie gifts & drinks. Also maybe slightly off-topic, but I would like to see boxing day leftovers.

Everything we ever wanted to know about snowflakes! I know it's not strictly Christmas, but it's a festive theme for those countries who have Christmas in wintertime. Snowflakes, and the variety of frosts in general, are so interesting!! :)

Thanks for the effort you put into this! As for the ideas, it'd be nice to see a walking/rambling video showing off the various Christmas lights, either in your town or in the closest large one

I appreciate that you (quite rightly) keep most family life things private but if there was a way of you discussing some Christmas traditions in your household, what a Christmas Eve/Day and Boxing Day looks like - do you cook for 2 or 15, for example - I think that would be interesting. In our house, since our children reached teenage years, we write categories in October, draw them out a hat for each person and, with a spending limit, have to find a gift under that category in the following months. It might be "something you've made" or simply, "an item of food" or ridiculous things like "something that both you and a Chicken could wear" It's good fun opening them on Christmas morning and generally avoids the "spending for the sake of it" that gift-buying can become. Thanks for all your videos in 2024 - you're one of my YouTube favourites 👍

To enjoy the simple things in life…a much needed reminder 😌 Everything you share is so thoughtful and thought provoking. Eva always brings a smile to my face 💕 Jenny’s Christmas Card Garland absolutely blew me away! I’ve never seen anything like it and it inspired me to make something by hand I can display and use for decades to come. Merry Christmas 🎄 Thank you again for the positive uplifting gi

Maybe something tea focused? Also, this sounds incredibly exciting. And relaxing. Relaxiting.

The only advent calendar I actually care about. Thank you Shrimp! Would love to see videos about particularly interesting UK holiday traditions. Or your own family traditions. Also budget holiday recipe challenges. Cooking, foraging and your from-scratch crafts are my favourite.
