Somewhere Only We Know not only is still one of my favorites, but always brings forth such nostalgic emotion 🥺❣️

I feel this celebratory year is a great opportunity to rifle through the old photo albums and share your ‘don’t we look so young, and what WERE we wearing?!’ classics! Excellent start here…! Thanks!

I still have the original Hopes & Fears CD in my car. I've had it since I was like 13, now I'm in my 30s

When I first heard that song, I thought, "FINALLY a new band that actually understands melody."

I remember selling my 1st copy of Hopes and Fears only to afford the Deluxe version. I still have that CD and the cardboard white sleeve, that album and Under the Iron Sea mean so much to the end of my teenage years. You're the only band I've been into since their debut album, and have never missed a single show in MONTERREY whenever you've come here 🧡 ILYS

So cool to see Kraftwerk there, I can imagine Keane covering one of their songs.

Here are some songs that inspired Somewhere Only We Know. Some of them - like Slide Away, Northern Sky and Autumn Almanac - were just ‘in the air’ at the time and I feel influenced the strong sense of place or the emotional energy of the song. Some (Heroes, Is This It?, Let Down) had a driving momentum we definitely aspired to - we always felt we needed ‘one more rocker’ in our set when we were playing in the pubs of London. Others are songs I can hear musical references to in the melody and the production - I’ll leave you to work out which bits!
