I guess i just gained it in middle school which is weird bc my family was never poor. We just weren’t rich enough for stereotypical middle class things.

The crazy part is that a lot of these people"s opinion of "poor" is the average persons opinion of "rich" because they never interact with real poor people.

The number of conversations I've had about exotic cars, pens and niche watch brands is too dang high. Also turns out it works the other way when you lean into cultural signifiers as well, the same thing happened with knowing about unique cultures. It's conspicuous consumption all the way down.... <Spoilers> just like that new film The Roses (2025)...probably the funniest and weirdly accurate rich liberal couples marital breakdown.... It's a really funny film, highly recommend. <End spoilers> I've met many people like that, really likeable and genuinely good people but holy heck was the ambition and giant ego looming in the back of their personalities like a belzibub or a yaksha.

I need to read this one! I experienced the same when I first went to college. I was a libertarian as a college freshmen and worked in Sacramento with various Republicans and business related P.A.C's Just the treatment you would recieve for not knowing the latest brands, trends, or how to use a certain tableware. Its a flip of the coin! They look at you like you're a different being all together.. then I tried to go work for some dems and they saw my experience with republican members as "jarring," like wtf is that supposed to mean. The whole experience turned me off from politics and the party dynamic... still got the degree in PoliSci lol idk what to do with it now tho 😅

A lady walks into a bar. This lady is a type. For these pricks. And thus the circle of class consumation at life begins. ( consumation conciousness)

Okay, is this picture set on Fishers Island? Because it looks a lot like Fishers Island. And if you dated people with THAT kind of money....yeah, you definitely learned about the class divide....
