It's not that we wouldn't like to cooperate. The economic system is set up to isolate us and make us see each other as competition for the ever scarcer jobs and housing.

Nope, it was the creation of the “Federal” Reserve and the 19th amendment. Get rid of both of those and society would self correct in 25 years.

Survival has always been a zero sum game. You either survive or you don’t. You either reproduce or you don’t. Developing nations with less money, less access to birth control, less access to mental healthcare or healthcare sum total are pretty much the only countries at replacement levels. The problem is our technological and economic developments that have allowed for the academic gaslighting that comes from our “civilized” culture and specifically academic institutions and pursuits. The more “intelligent” we are the more effective our self rationalizations become to the point that we have begun to muddy the waters on empirically verifiable fact like the whole biological sex vs. gender discussion. Our states of ideologically founded delusion are works of art that would give the Sistine Chapel a run for its money.

Society fell apart when people became products and sold. How long were women sold for and has that had a psychological and bio-logical effect on them now?
