Honestly, I hadn't planned on talking about this, but after thinking about it, I've decided to talk about it. And I'll also make a video about it.
On Saturday, October 25, most of the Wis Anime editors posted that Caramel, a Wis editor with over 105,000 subscribers, had disappeared, meaning their YouTube channel was gone.
Most of the people who subscribed to that channel hinted that her channel was hacked and deleted, and very few said that she deleted it herself.
And yesterday, October 26, Conquestor confirmed that Caramel deleted her channel on her own, and the reason is unknown, but according to Conquestor, she left because of the community she had, that toxic part that only defended what they believed was right in relation to their fictional characters.
If you ask me, it's a shame when someone with a lot of subscribers on their YouTube channel leaves, but it's even sadder when someone deletes their channel. I've even sometimes asked myself, "Are there really people who haven't heard my message and just left?" This question is related to the last video I uploaded to my channel. https://youtu.be/OJUo4__G__o?si=s3oUR...
Honestly, I want to believe the reason she left was because of that toxic part of her community, since so far I've seen other posts from other Wis editors where they express that they're going to retire because of it. And look, maybe I don't have that much experience with this, but you—you, the one reading this right now—do. Maybe my channel doesn't have more than 20,000 subscribers, or 100,000, or that overwhelming amount of subscribers that that Conquestor has, who to me is just another Random more in the WIS Community. Everything they're enduring on their channels, all those comments with arguments of more than 20 lines arguing why this character should win and the other shouldn't, I've experienced all of that in 2023 and 2024.
So, you'll see what you do with these kinds of comments and your users. You'll see if you delete their comments, if you block them from commenting anymore, or if you write something like: "Get a life, this is fiction, not real life," and that's it, because at the end of the day, fiction is something unreal, it doesn't exist. And there's no need to start stupid fights just because of that, and this is also more directed at all those mfers flat-earthers and scientists in a certain anime community I know, who, honestly, would have preferred to never have seen such poorly written anime.
Now, unless you're a powerscaler, you'd better not do anything I wrote here, you'll see how you solve it yourself.
Anyway, I wanted to make this post to talk about this topic and also to vent about my past demons. Have a nice day/night 🍕
