Doomkemon

I am troubled. About using and not using voice actors.
What do you prefer more?

I can't speak English fluently, so I will use Korean dubbing and English subtitles.

I'm personally in a middle ground. I would say it equally depends on both the story and characters in a video, like for example the two videos where Gloria had a voice actress. In those videos, it made sense for her to have a voice, and it worked. And of course you have Doomguy, who even though he's canonically spoken (though very rarely), its best in his character if he remains silent, especially since many DOOM fans prefer him to speak through actions. I hope this makes sense!

In general I do enjoy voice acting but with you (typically) having Pokémon or various horror stuff interacting with Doomguy I think the lack of voice acting works just very well.

Both options have their charm. Sometimes it is necessary to have Voice actors, but there are occasions when the lack of them gives a more cartoony air that adds a certain humor to the scene. it's just my vision

I feel like the scorbunny video made the voice acting fit pretty well, so as long as most of the video is just action, the voice acting will work great!!! side note: love your videos, keep up the good work

I see both working depending on what you want to do. However I think you should keep in mind a good part of what makes your animation so unique and interesting is how it expresses so much about the characters and situations with action alone and very little voice acting.

@Dafaillord

You are really talented to tell a story without voice acting. And I like that! Feels more like it is your style. Imo.

I voted for actions alone, as that's my preference, but there may be cases where a voice would make things a lot easier for you as the animator. When there is a voice, I (personally) emphatically prefer Korean with subtitles.

Honestly, I really like what you do with the limitation of no voice-acting. I believe that, if you do choose to include voices at some point, it should be for important moments. Contrast is a powerful thing, y'know?

Communication without voices is easier to convey to a broader group of people, but can require more work and time to get the same message across. Your work is fantastic, which ever you choose I'll support your choice. P.S. don't let your English skills weigh you down, I'd rather see someone try there best then not try at all.

The one you made with the sleepless Gloria was really cool, kinda threw me out at first since your vids didn't had voice until that one, but it really fitted her the end and it was way cooler to hear her talk

Third option: as much VA as you need with the top tier expressive animation

I feel whichever you feel more comfortable with

@IAmTanker

It depends on the video but, I am generally impressed with stories that are told through body language and actions. On the other hand if there is an idea that can't be entirely told through 'show don't tell' then start speaking because I want to listen damnit. Both? Both. Both, both is good.

Cant/wont vote atm because your animations in particular are a fascinating specimen. Outside of maybe using clips from each of their respective games, your characters benefit from being silent because doomguy and the trainers dont officially speak, not including anime for the trainers. However, even though you are very talented at showing expression through your animations, i know voices can add more expression if done right. Of course, there's the increased cost, editing workload and time, as well as any issues from a falling out, if one were to occur. I say no voice acting, and if anything, add text boxes or subtitles.

Ultimately your the artist, I may prefer without voices however you should do what you enjoy. Voice or not your content is still amazing.

I like both ^.^

@parodyman64

It honestly depends on the video. Both styles have produced great results.

@dynamicpanicstudios

It depends on the direction of the story. Some scenes convey far more without anything being said, but some need a little dialogue and exposition. It’s all about what you feel is needed
