Expatriarch

Thank you so much for all the of support and feedback for the livestreams this week. Tonight we'll be wrapping up a few loose ends, talking about the intimacy coordinator, the WGA strike and then taking your questions.

So, if you have any remaining questions about the Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni situation, things that you're still confused about or something that doesn't add up, then please feel free to post them below.

If you're able to make tonight's stream live, I'll be throwing out a handful of free memberships to the channel meaning you'll get to watch my new videos a day early.

Appreciate all of you who have hung out in chat with me over the last week and hopefully for those of you not interested in the topic, these live streams have been a way to cover it without impacting the normal content too much.

Hope to see you tonight!

Not a question so much as speculation. I’m struck by the fact that SS was at the set when the childbirth scene was filmed. It should have been a closed set that day (and there should have been an Intimacy Coordinator—which there was not) but in spite of it being a “closed” set, SS was there. Why on that specific day? Does it have something to do with the same obsession that JB & JH appear to have with motherhood and childbirth? Was he just there to witness it? To make sure it was captured “correctly?” Here’s the speculation part (and I sort of alluded to this in an incompletely-thought-out question on the Monday LS, I think): was there another purpose for the footage from the childbirth scene, possibly to be used as part of their evangelizing propaganda? I had been thinking along these lines about the other intimate scenes, how JS kept wanting to push beyond what would have been appropriate for a PG13 rating…. Was it just to stoke his director’s ego, was it pure misogyny, or was there a more nefarious intent for that footage. I will be the first to admit that this is WILDLY speculative, but I cannot shake the thought that there was an ulterior motive for the improvised footage. I’m always telling my honey that when he hears hooves, think horses not zebras, and yet here I am thinking it’s zebras. 🤷🏼‍♀️ ETA to add: I think the MOST LIKELY answer is that is about exerting power, and misogyn
