My mom makes a pumpkin roll. It's pumpkin bread but a bit sweeter I think then there is a cream cheese sweet filling and it's rolled up with pecans or walnuts. Super yummy but we only have it at Christmas and all of my friends growing up always asked her to make it for them. When we got older they still ask ha ha. I am not a fan of pumpkin anything but that roll. Merry Christmas!

I have never seen pumpkin seeds on pumpkin bread. I usually see a cream cheese frosting or some kind of sugary drizzle lightly covering it IF there is even a topping on it.

I wonder if the pumpkin puree you first bought used the right kind pumpkins. The variety used for cooking should be a sugar pumpkin. I remember as a child after carving Jack O Lanterns for Halloween, my parents collect and clean off the seeds, soak them in salt water and then roasted them. A bit salty, but they were addictive in a way similar to how potato chips(crisps)are addictive. I think those seeds used on your bread were skinned because I remember the roasted seeds we ate were white on the outside.
