Happy 40th Anniversary to the most iconic video game character of all time: Super Mario!
40 years ago today, on September 13, 1985, the very first Super Mario Bros. game was officially released on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then, there have been over 200 games, spanning Nintendo consoles from the SNES to the Nintendo Switch, and ranging from platformer games, to sports titles, to the iconic Mario Kart series. The franchise has even expanded into other forms of media outside of gaming, including television, merchandise, theme parks, and even film. Over the course of 40 years, Nintendo has developed loads of colorful worlds, fun, memorable characters, and hours of enjoyment for fans.
