Sorry, I miss this! Some school districts currently have phone bans. I believe it gives teachers a break from discipline. The students and parents can't give them a headache because it is a district wide policy.

@Bluebird-77

You know what, I think they should not be allowed to use them while in class but with today's climate I think it's necessary that they have it in case of emergencies.

100% schools should ban phones. Smartphones should be illegal for minors until the age of 18.

@nathalieduverna6963

Not during class/departure or arrival to school. Give them a window to use the phone( no pictures, post , or recording

Absolutely not with the bulk of school shootings increasing every year. They don’t need phones during class but anything else is suitable

@Lyn-x9m

They should be banned for use during school hours, from start to finish of classes. Just as adults are usually discouraged or prohibited from using cell phones during work time, school is the child's job. Before or after school use is acceptable.

Not only should phones be banned from schools, but children shouldn’t have phones. They’re not really phones, or computers. Very few of them use them for anything other than entertainment or phone calls. If they need a way to contact someone, give them a flip phone.but that’s just being a rational human being

@CocoaBananas23

During class phones should be switched off and maybe even put into a container and put away. In between classes and free time kids should be allowed to use their phones. A lot of things have been caught on videos like racist teachers, altercations etc and kids should be able to get in touch with their parents if need be 🤷🏾‍♀️ I just don’t think they should be completely banne

In Canada our school board band cell phones this year for the first time for elementary cut kids, In grades seven and under; my daughter is in grade five and I still let her bring her cell phone to schpull on Safe mode. So it only vibrates and I have Google parental locks on the phone so she can't access the internet. Any apps or games or musit's strictly for emergency calls. For instance, if the school goes into lockdown and she needs to send a quick text.While she's in a safe place to let me kno that she's safe or to call the cops. As a parent I sat her down and spoke to her about the rules.She's had the phone since september and it's never been taken away. I know that I am breaking the rules, but I'm securing her By knowing where she is at all times. It's when the kids are not following the rules that you set out for them.That make it hard for the teacher to control the classrsome of the responsibilities need to be on the parents to actually pay rent their children.
