Day 6 of reviewing BFDI episodes until Silksong comes out: S1 E6 "Power Of Three" There's a 0.637% chance that Silksong will come out tomorrow—and growing!
Also, sorry for posting this late! Really didn't mean to, but time caught up with me!
Thoughts—
Okay, so I might have some bias here, but this is probably one of my favorite episodes in the whole show. It has so much going on, and there's even some use of math! Like, advanced math!
Cake at Stake: CAS was pretty fun this time around. But let's cut to the chase here: Pin was eliminated. I saw this coming from a mile away. For some reason, Michael and Cary really wanted you to hate Pin. You'll see later (much later) why this may have been the case. But, for now, we'll just stick to the regular stuff.
Also, that math thing I was talking about? "The factorial of the difference between the square of the number of spatial dimensions in this universe and one more than the smallest perfect number." It was a pretty good bit and shows how mathematically ahead Michael and Cary were (apparently they were like 11???)
Challenge: The challenge had a bit going on, so let's break it down:
Teams are temporarily split up into 5 groups of 3 total.
Get to the first island, where you have to look through many safes for a raft to the second island.
On the second island, stack blocks to reach a key for the third island.
On the third island, you might find that the key is a fake. If it is, go back to the second island to get the real one.
Pen, Eraser, and Firey got through the challenge first. Meanwhile, Coiny, Ice Cube, and Needle got through last, leading to the most wonderful chorus I've ever heard!
Losers: Like I said, Pen, Eraser, and Needle got through to the third island last, meaning they got eliminated. It kinda feels like they were cheated by sb, but... I think it's fine, since sb is definitely a boyboss (girlboss, but male).
Overall: LOVED this episode, especially after the snoozefest that were episodes 4 & 5. Straight out of the water, I'm giving this episode an SS rating. I know, I know, it's not the best episode all things considered. But I really liked it. It's one of the only episodes where I remember almost all events in order. I think that's because it's memorable!
