Blueline Bodycam

🚨 Police Appreciation Post 🚨

I get a lot of comments and I see it on other bodycam channels too where people say, “Remind me not to go to this city, since all these videos are from there.” I want to clear up that myth.

We request footage from all over the country, but every state and city has different rules about what their departments are required (or willing) to release to the public and the media. The cities you see most often are actually the ones that are the most transparent and open, they don’t have anything to hide. It’s a good example of “survivor bias.”

So I just want to say thank you to the departments that show up frequently on our channel. Your commitment to being open with the public really matters.

@Mary_Beth_R

Absolutely true! If a department is not willing to release any of their footage, you should be asking why.

@NipItInTheBud100

That’s a great way to look at it! Every city has crime. The police departments willing to show their body cam footage are the ones that know they are doing everything by the book the way it’s supposed to be done! Well done for bringing this to everyone’s attention!

My only issue regarding this subject is that not much, if anything at all, in Wisconsin seems to be illegal since most videos from there end in charges being ridiculously downgraded or dropped altogether.

@buffylynn

This is true. You will NEVER get body cams from Hollywood PD, LA PD etc. Florida’s laws are different and they release most if not all or all body cams.

Crazy stuff happens everywhere. It's not a geographical issue but a mental health issue.

Generally people have absolutely no idea what’s happening in the world around them. They prefer to live in a ridiculous complacent vibe. Then an event like 9/11 occurs and they just can’t figure it out. 🙄🙄

“Welcome to the Jungle. We got fun and games.” IMO they promote lawlessness in that charges for fighting LEO are dropped, or dismissed. Fines are pretty low. They even allow homicide suspects bond.

Policing all over the country is a disgrace. It's never been as bad as it is now. The amount of INNOCENT people killed by cops over the last almost 2 years is over 1k. The amount of cops killed by civilians is under 100. The Pro Police media will twist those #'s to fit the "officer safety" propaganda. It's disgusting. Most interactions are regular, routine traffic stops and more and more we are seeing that it is the police that unnecessarily escalate these encounters either because someone is standing up for their rights (cops hate our rights) or because they "perceive" their ego's are being challenged. In either case their reactions are retaliatory whether it's unnecessary violence or extra tickets. More cops than ever are on the Brady List but the public doesn't hear about that. More cops are being caught committing and/or being charged with crimes, serious crimes, than ever before. Cops no longer have a desire to serve the people but to rule and control them. One thing cops cannot seem to understand about the law in general and their place in it is...THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY OVER PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT COMMITTED A CRIME! They cannot just walk up and start ordering people around that are not reasonably suspected of criminal activity. They lack a fundamental understanding of the very foundation of their own jobs. They lack the knowledge of laws and the nuances of how they are meant to be applied. My dear friend who is a former police officer said they spent less than a week on Constitutional Rights in the academy and the next week was the basic laws but they weren't taught what reasonable suspicion was or how to apply it in the field. It's frightening what little education they actually receive aside from physical training. That is 99.9% of it.

@MafiaPunk43

No department can legally withhold footage, it's all freely available via Freedom Of Information Act. Law enforcement has to provide all bodycam footage on request which they do. If there's enough departments out there violating that please let the appropriate officials know so they can be held accountable instead of posting about it on YouTube. I've yet to see one department purposefully violating withhold bodycam footage. Lack of body cam footage doesn't not automatically equal hiding bad actions and intent. Correlation doesn't always equal causation.

@ParaNoid816

Yeah. I can just compare crime stats and see that simply isn't the case. Violent crime is virtually non-existent where I live. When it does happen... it almost always occurs within family or friend groups.

@WitchyBishy

Except Albuquerque. Yes footage is easy to get in nm, but please be smart and stay in Santa Fe/taos when you visit nm. Idk how many pleas I've seen from tourists who just want their stuff back after their cars are stolen while they sleep. But more importantly, watch the cops in all the videos shoot Willie nilly and 75 rounds get fired with maybe 5 accounted for in the end. This year alone,5 cops have been wounded by "friendly" fire including one police dog who didn't make it.
