I do not care about Artificial Incompetence. Actually, no. That's wrong. I do care. I care that it's stealing peoples jobs, and has been trained on stolen materials. People in Facebook (if not Zuck), and that OpenAI guy (something Freed/Fried/Froid, whatever his name is), should be facing severe fines and life in prison.

For the last 4 months I use AI at work pretty much every day to make my job as a software engineer and head network admin for the department a little easier. For me AI helps me automate manual tasks, helps me learn new skills, helps me fix problems with systems, helps me setup some boilerplate code...

Its a useful tool when used correctly and is targeted towards specific needs. The mad rush will soon end as companies start looking at their ROI and find it difficult to quantify.

Any and all artistic uses for AI make me genuinely sick to my stomach but AlphaFold is pretty dang important in the field of protein sciences right now and it would be a serious blow to lose it.

I honestly have zero idea how I’d use AI at home to change how I use my computers. I additionally don’t trust AI models for tech help, after having to correct it multiple times during a troubleshooting session.

AI really doesn’t work. The fact that we’ve now gotten to the sophistication of PROLOG machines from the 1980s says something. Not sure what, but it’s gotta say something. Image processing has come a long way but the logical programming still hallucinates at a rate far in excess of the 1980s machines. Considering that we now have MAGA and their illogic, that’s not really surprising. GIGO.

Don’t care about it, cause “AI” doesn’t exist. There is only bullshit marketing for llms… is the tech interesting? Sure, but most of what’s out there is just scamming ppl 😢

its advanced computing algorithms not AI and as such it can be programmed to an agenda it is not being developed for the betterment of people only the enrichment of a few and the control of the many yet again we push out half assed tech, not seeing the later ramifications down the road

Got a question for you... How much do you actually care about AI stuff? (please do let me know more in the comments)
Personally I see a lot of cynicism around AI tools and relatively few actual use cases, especially for personal use. I can see a lot of businesses adopting AI tools to speed up productivity (or outright replace workers...), but I'd love to know what you think about it all.
