Sonic is such a simple character, that’s his whole thing, he’s simply a guy that loves adventure whereas shadow’s story is about coming to terms with his past trauma and finally gaining closure, a battle that lasted 23 years

In my opinion, Shadow is a better written character because his story of being the ultimate lifeform and being created by Professor Gerald Robotnik to be Maria's cure and how he became an anti-hero after losing his only friend is something that stands out in him.

Sonic is a great character, he got a good story and hanging with friend around, also he has alot fun time during the adventure but what about Shadow? He went through almost every chaotic that happened save everyone even help a GUN that kill someone he loved and being the one that still standing up is crazyy..

It’s absolutely Shadow. If you want better competition for Shadow, you should’ve put characters like Knuckles, Eggman, Metal Sonic or Gamma
