Most of us can't even afford food so a vacation sounds like a dream

I believe the common denominator here is that most ppl are struggling in ways you might have hoped were less common. NIMBY people need a break. We feed the machine. We hope it works and takes care of us. That's not how it goes. They claim budget cuts, all manner of excuses. The thing is we pay more. We get less support. Excuses are made...It goes on . Politicians get paid. WE PAY FOR EVERYTHING. Very disconcerting and disappointing.

Subjectively speaking yes, I filled my tank twice going down south to the Cumberland falls and walked around the mountain trails with my dogs on the 4th of July, the best I was able to afford, but at least I was able to afford something finally!

My son's mother is taking him again to Disney World, and I am going to miss being part of it again. He wants me to go but unfortunately, I can't afford it. He is 8 years old and he is the best thing in my life! Disney is the reason I had my son. It's where I meet his mom. I told him yesterday that one day, we will go together and have a wonderful time. Good luck everyone!

Yup. Since January 1. My vacation ends Dec 31 just in time for me to start my next vacation on January 1 (I'm retired). Though when I was working we usually took a vacation in late June or early July, then another short one in the fall, and a couple weeks off around the holidays where we didn't go anywhere, just bummed around the house.
