Very pleased to announce that the next episode will be on the 1975 John Milius film, "The Wind and the Lion"!

This is a pulpy adventure story about a Berber tribesman (played by Sean Connery) who kidnaps three American nationals, and the efforts of Theodore Roosevelt to free these hostages before his showdown with Alton Parker during the 1904 election.

The plot is very loosely based on the real life "Perdicaris Incident", an extremely obscure historical event.

We decided to watch this because it is one of Matt's father's favorite films, and we're so happy that we did! We highly recommend checking it out.

We should be done with editing probably sometime within the next couple of weeks.

That’s at least four non-Brits he’s played. A Brit disguised as a Japanese man, a Spaniard, an Egyptian, and a Berber.

So glad you’re reviewing a movie with such great POC representation. (Sean Connery is half-Irish)

Love Milius. I think he was involved with a Rough Riders tv show as well.

I only vaguely know of this film and know nothing of its history. If John "So Conservative Im Maoist" Milius is involved, i expect a grand old fun time.

I can't tell if Berber Sean Connery is more or less absurd than Mongol John Wayne
