Our ancestors did not want to be called black because they knew that they were indigenous. I was born in 53 and still remember that when someone called u black they were FIGHTING WORDS!!!!

We need to claim our heritage. Whenever I mention American-Indians, there is always someone called native american there to challenge who I am and boast about who they are not.

Yes get rid of all the misnomers. Black, colored, negro, indian, Afro-American African-American etc. We are Aboriginal to the land, we are NIIJI, WE are Americans. We are the People. We are the true Landlords of Turtle Island. I'm so down for a class action suit against the US gov for mislabelling, and stealing from our ancestors.

Should we get rid of the terms "Black" and "African American" as our classifications of race?
