My poor cat is not well. Sitting here at the vet, it strikes me that, without streaming, it would have been very difficult for me to be able to afford care for my cats, much less myself. I maybe don't say it enough, but I am deeply appreciative of you all so very much for the support over the years, it has changed my life <3
In another few weeks, I'll be moving once again (3 times in the past 4 years @_@), but I am very hopeful about this one: I'll be joining a new science lab at last! I have missed it dearly, but it has been very difficult to find something I really believe in that is free from a lot of the crappy parts of academic research (I applied to 28 different labs). This lab studies some of the more subtle reasons why treatments work sometimes and not other times (even for people who are otherwise very healthy), or why sometimes we get really sick, but other times we recover just fine. I will apply these ideas to vaccines but also other things as well, so it'll be interesting to think about new and old problems. Most importantly though, the lab seems full of great people who want to help make the world a better place, if just in some small way!
