I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the issue with the "safety warnings" on these toys. My niece had one with UV resin, but no one realized what it was. They put it together on my kitchen table with no ventilation or protection. The stench was enough to know they needed to do it outside, but it took them lesving it for 24 hours to "dry," then it curing in maybe 2 minutes of being in the sun for me to recognize it from working with 3D printers. Mini brands were banned after that, and her dad was warned about the safety hazards of UV resin.

Someone gifted one of these to my niece when she was 5 and weāve never let her use it. She doesnāt even know it exists. It was such a completely inappropriate gift to give her at the time. No regrets

I saw these in stores and thought it was wild to be in the toy section š¤Æ

8 and up. That is the age range. Granted I see more adults using these kits. It seems more intuitive to keep smaller items within specific age ranges anyway regardless of resin inclusion. Also another competing brand is transitioning to two part epoxies and expanding foams and has aopeared to add uv enhancing pigments to their resin to encourage curing.

Thanks for addressing this! I bought a few of the mini kits recently and didnāt know they are UV resin. Kinda concerning these are marketed to kids.

I'm personally addicted to minis but I don't deal with the resin that comes with the sets and surprise balls

Finally! Itās crazy because so many parents argue about the make it Miniverse with me. Just because itās wrongfully marketed towards kids, DOESNāT make it for kids. They even changed the resin to some other āsaferā resin after a lawsuit. Idk if they do now, but in the beginning the instructions donāt even say use gloves. It says use rubbing alcohol to get off of your skinā¦.
